Clearly fountain pens were being overtaken in popularity by their ballpoint counterparts, and yet it is interesting to see how the legacy pen makers struggled to hold on to and fight for a declining market share. This set shows Waterman innovating with a cartridge-only fountain pen that comes with a click ball pen. To sweeten the pot, Waterman included a keychain with a storage compartment for a fresh cartridge! This set has been used, but it is in near mint condition. The fountain pen has an original empty cartridge loaded in it, as does the ballpoint pen. We are not sure you can find a working replacement cartridge for the ballpoint pen. Yet, the Waterman long cartridge used today might very well work on the fountain pen. The golden nib writes a fine-medium line. The Waterman fountain pen is 13.6cm capped.
