Vintage Pens: Parker Deluxe Challenger

Vintage Pens: 2048 Parker Deluxe Challenger
Era: 1930-1939
Price: $125.00
The Vacumatic had taken the flagship position for Parker's top pen just as the Great Depression was laying waste to the economy. Realizing the need for a mid-tier priced pen, Parker sprang into action by resurrecting the Duofold button-filling system and wrapping it in a very stylish art-deco fountain pen called the Challenger. This pen is the larger Parker Deluxe Challenger. Black and green fleck the cap and barrel in perfect color with no discoloration and barely any marks of wear. No brassing on the clip or triple cap bands. Fully restored with a new ink sac! The original 14k gold nib writes a firm but very smooth extra-fine to fine line. Strong imprint, 1937 date code. 12.8cm capped.
