Vintage Pens: Esterbrook LJ-2668
Vintage Pens: 2057 Esterbrook LJ-2668
Esterbrook fountain pens taught an entire generation how to write with an ink pen. Babyboomers were likely required by their schools to write with an Esterbrook fountain pen. Inexpensive and easily customized, pens such as this Esterbrook LJ come with an easily changed steel nib to fit any writing style or need. The nibs simply unscrewed from the pen and were replaced for less than a dollar. We restored this pale-green pen with a new ink sac. The pen was a daily user and features some wear, including a few small stains, which you can see at the tail of the pen in the photo. Click the headline for a closer look. The cap is a few shades of green different from the barrel. Possibly married. The steel 2668 nib was advertised as a "general writing" point, which writes a smooth medium when held at the sweet spot angle. No cracks. The clip isn't quite making contact with the barrel, where it slips into your pocket. 11.9cm capped.
