Vintage Pens: Esterbrook SJ-1551
Vintage Pens: 2059 Esterbrook SJ-1551
Candy-apple red is layered like a freshly licked lollipop on this Esterbrook SJ fountain pen. It has light wear, but there are no cracks or deep scratches. We restored it with a fresh ink sac. The steel nib is a 1551 model, which was advertised as a student nib. This isn't unusual, as most high schools and secretarial schools required these vintage pens. The nib writes a very smooth fine line. The SJ designation means it is the longer, slender version of the pen. 12.8cm capped.
