Vintage Pens: Esterbrook SM (?)
Vintage Pens: 2060 Esterbrook SM (?)
Although we call this an Esterbrook SM, we are not convinced that is what it is. It really looks like a cross between an SM and M2. Either way, we are reasonably sure it was from the late 1940s or 1950s. The cornflower blue section and barrel have seen heavy use, with plenty of scratches. The cap is in surprisingly good condition with only a few tiny marks on the back top of the pen, opposite the clip. We restored it with a new ink sac. Its steel 9668 nib was considered a top-of-the-line nib upgrade that was advertised as being a medium for "general writing." True to its advertising, it is a very nice medium writer with a hint of feedback but no scratch. 12.9cm capped.
