The Visconti Declaration of Independence collection pays tribute to one of the most important of dates in American history. It is appropriate that Visconti pays tribute to the Declaration of Independence with a unique limited edition pen since a pen was used for signatory to the statement.

Vintage Pens: 0276 Commonwealth Fountain Pen
Filling Mechanism: Button Filler
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $59.99
Vintage Pens: 0276: Commonwealth: Fountain Pen
Have you ever heard of the Commonwealth brand? We had not, until this one showed up on our doorstep. It is made of hard rubber, which leads us to believe a 1920s vintage. The rubber turned chocolatey brown, but we managed to mostly restore it to its original black. The button-filling mechanism has been fully restored and includes a new ink sac. The only markings on the pen are a fading imprint that reads "Commonwealth / British Made." The 14k size 2 nib hooks downward but writes a nice fine line with enough flex to push it to medium and even bold, if you are daring enough. Its only real fault is that the clip, while tight up top, is pulled away from the cap where it should grip your shirt pocket. 12.8cm capped.

Vintage Pens: Pelikan 101N tortoise with red ebonite cap
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1930-1939
Price: $1280.00

Vintage Pens: : Pelikan: 101N tortoise with red ebonite cap
This is a beautifully kept early version of the 101N tortoise, with hard rubber cap and knob. The logo in the cap top is still with the 4 birds in the nest. Cap is engraved DUMMY - Factice - Simulado - and in fact, this is the reason why the pen and its barrel is in such fantastic conditons - the pen was made for window display only. I managed to diassemble the pen and give the missing piston. so now its a perfectly working Pelikan pen.

Pre-Owned Pens: 0268 Joesph Lipic Classic Fountain Pen
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present
Price: $149.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 0268: Joesph Lipic: Classic Fountain Pen
The Joseph Lipic Pen Company is a fascinating story. Based in St. Louis, it was founded in 1863. It claims on its box and papers to be the world's oldest pen company, but the folks at Pelikan might disagree, having been founded in 1838. Nevertheless, Joseph Lipic seems to be a family-owned business that is still in operation today. While they seem to have given up on fountain pens, they now make advertising pens and other promotional items. This particular pen is seemingly new and never used. It uses a Pelikan-style piston filler that operates as smoothly as if it were made yesterday. The medium nib reads "Senator/Iridium/Germany/M". Either the model name is "Senator" or "Classic Fountain Pen," as seen on the instructions. It comes with a very good-condition box (scuff on top side), filling instructions and a scroll with the warranty information. We are not certain of this pen's age, but the papers it comes with have what appear to be dates of "8/83" and "9/83." 12.6cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 0259 Sheaffer Prelude
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $99.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 0259: Sheaffer: Prelude
The Sheaffer Prelude is a perennial favorite here at This one features a mottled amber lacquer shell over a brass body. (Minor surface wear) The golden trim is stamped "Sheaffer's USA." It fills with a cartridge or converter. A converter is included with the pen. At first glance the medium nib looks fine. Magnify it about 10 times, and you can see the slightest hint of corrosion between the tines. (Please see the secondary photo when you click the blue title font of the pen.)This in no way effects the performance; it is just something we like to be upfront about. 13.2cm capped.
