Pre-Owned Pens: 2220: Sheaffer: Pre-Connaisseur
We initially misrepresented this pen as a Sheaffer Connaisseur. In truth, we learned that it came out a little ahead of the Connaisseur. Using a 1920s black hard rubber design, Sheaffer created a great new pen fitted to use a modern Sheaffer cartridge or converter. It comes complete with an older squeeze bar converter, but you can use modern piston-drive converters. These were not made out of chased black hard rubber, but they look like it. The pen has only minimal wear. The 14k gold nib writes a very nice medium line. 13.2cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 2111 Sheaffer Triumph Lifetime
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1940-1949
Price: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 2111: Sheaffer: Triumph Lifetime
As World War II drew to a close, most companies had a series of pens with victorious names. The Sheaffer Triumph went through many permutations. This is one of the rarer lever fillers, with the White Dot logo on the tail. Many of these pens were vacuum-piston fillers that were intended to last a lifetime but turned out not to last more than a couple years. The Triumph nib, with its intentionally upturned point, would remain in production on Sheaffer's TouchDowns and Snorkels. The 1/10th 14k gold-filled cap was a big upgrade, and it looks pretty good except for a dimple at the top, a little dent below and to the right of the clip and light wear. The barrel has a few deeper scratches and a little bulge at the tail and a smaller one around the middle of the barrel. We replaced the ink sac. The 14k gold nib writes a wet, firm extra-fine to fine line with a little feedback, as you get in most extra fines. Nice thick grip which makes for easier writing. 13.3cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 1868: Sheaffer: 500
Every writer needs a good, reliable pen to use in the trenches of life, no matter where it takes you. We have one such friend in this vintage pen known as a Sheaffer 500. Fully restored with a fresh ink sac, you can write all day with it. Heavy brassing on the cap band, light brassing on the pocket clip and some wear on the cap and barrel only signify that this was a trusty pen back in the day that is ready for more action now. You can still see through the inkview window, although it is a dark amber. The two-tone 14k gold nib writes a fine line pretty well. 13.5cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 1552 Sheaffer Valor
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $299.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1552: Sheaffer: Valor
Subtle sepia clouds of copper swirl through the polished celluloid finish of this high-end Sheaffer Valor fountain pen. Although it had a short production run, it was the flagship pen of Sheaffer for a season or two in the 2000s. Ours comes with its laquered box, papers, converter and a few ink cartridges. If it was used, it was only used once or twice. The inlaid 14k gold nib writes a buttery smooth medium line. As it is the only Sheaffer pen that we are aware of that was made in Italy, we wonder if Stipula or Montegrappa lent them a hand with this incredible celluloid. 15cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 1924 Sheaffer Valiant Admiral
Filling Mechanism: Snorkel
Era: 1950-1959
Price: $85.00
SOLD!
Vintage Pens: 1924: Sheaffer: Valiant Admiral
Here's a riddle wrapped inside a mystery. This Sheaffer Snorkel is giving us fits. It has an Valiant cap that matches the burgundy Admiral body, which has the most buttery smooth 14k medium (M2) nib. Only Sheaffer Admirals had open, gold monotone nibs. Normally, we'd say it is a married set, BUT the imprint is a little off, too. "W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co. / Fort Madison, Iowa, URSA / Made in USA." Did you notice the out-of-place "R"? It is actually larger than the USA font, falling between and on top of the "U.S". We don't know if that gives any significance to the pen, but you sure don't see many typos like that in the imprint. We restored the seals and gaskets, and this pen is writing and filling like new. No cracks, only light wear. 14.2cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 1771 Sheaffer Prelude
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $99.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1771: Sheaffer: Prelude
Sheaffer keeps going strong with popular pens such as its Prelude. This long-running model features easy cartridge/converter filling and comes with a converter. Gently used, you can see where the snap cap started to scratch and wear on the tail of the pen. Otherwise, the pen is in very good condition. The golden nib is marked as a medium and writes smoothly. Click the headline to see it. 13.3cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 1732 Sheaffer PFM V
Filling Mechanism: Snorkel
Era: 1950-1959
Price: $499.99
Vintage Pens: 1732: Sheaffer: PFM V
Few Sheaffer pens are as desired as much as the Sheaffer PFM series. Ours is a Sheaffer PFM V. This is the pinnacle of the PFM (Pen for Men) line, as it has a gold-plated cap and tail piece. Ours is in very good to excellent condition. You can see a little wear on the cap and barrel, but there are no egregious dents, cracks or deep scratches. The metal surfaces have light surface scratches from careful daily use. The snorkel filling system is in great working condition. We don't know when it was last restored, but the pen works perfectly. The inlaid 14k gold nib writes an extra-fine line. It is very firm but very reasonable with which to write. There can be a little feedback at some angles, but nothing extra-fine lovers haven't come to expect. The wide body is so nice for gripping without cramping. 13.5cm capped.
