Vintage Pens: 1895 Sheaffer Imperial
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1960-1979
Price: $49.99
Vintage Pens: 1895: Sheaffer: Imperial
If you like smoooooth extra-fine nibs, our Sheaffer Imperial is worth a closer look. (At least we think it is an imperial. It has the squared off cap and inlaid nib, but its tail isn't squared but rounded.) Chrome trim looks great against its medium to dark blue body. The cap and barrel have traces of wear from use but nothing terrible. We installed a still-working squeeze-bar converter, but it should take modern Sheaffer cartridges and converters. Its palladium extra-fine nib is dreamy. 13.1cm capped.

Price: $99.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1771: Sheaffer: Prelude
Sheaffer keeps going strong with popular pens such as its Prelude. This long-running model features easy cartridge/converter filling and comes with a converter. Gently used, you can see where the snap cap started to scratch and wear on the tail of the pen. Otherwise, the pen is in very good condition. The golden nib is marked as a medium and writes smoothly. Click the headline to see it. 13.3cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 1866 Sheaffer 3-25 Orange
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 1866: Sheaffer: 3-25 Orange
We get Parker "Big Reds" by the gross, but this is our first orange Sheaffer from the 1920s! A Sheaffer 3-25, the model number designates that it was a $3 pen with a 25-year warrantee. It is a really handsome slender, junior-size vintage pen. We have fully restored it with a new ink sac. The imprint is legible but faded in parts. The black threads were a factory repair in the 1920s or '30s. The orange-colored material proved to be a little fragile, and they'd replace broken orange thread pieces with spliced in black ones. There are two teeny hairline cracks that are very short sprouting from the place where the orange and black meet. There are a couple of hairline cracks in the lip of the cap, too, but all the cracks seem stable, as long as you don't post the cap. There is heavy brassing in the back of the cap band and a little on the ball of the pocket clip. The original inkfeed and 14k gold nib write a firm fine line. 10.8cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 1851 Sheaffer Balance II
Filling Mechanism: Ballpoint
Era: 1980-present
Price: $25.00
Pre-Owned Pens: 1851: Sheaffer: Balance II
Paying tribute to their famed Balance pens of the 1930s, Sheaffer's Balance II ballpoint pen delivers the classic jade celluloid design of the vintage fountain pen in a convenient twist-action ballpoint pen. We installed a brand-new Sheaffer ink cartridge. Our preowned pen is perfect EXCEPT for the large chip missing around the clip's anchor point. Click the headline font to see the damage upclose. The clip is a bit loose, but overall the pen works very well. A great daily user for someone who wants to keep this writing instrument off the poor Island of Lost Pens. 13.8cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 1789 Sheaffer Admiral
Filling Mechanism: Snorkel
Era: 1950-1959
Price: $129.99  Was: $159.99

Vintage Pens: 1789: Sheaffer: Admiral
Sage Green is one of the more difficult Sheaffer colors to find. We have fully restored our Sheaffer Admiral with a new ink sac, O-ring and point seal. It looks pretty good for a vintage pen that was also a user. It has light wear and shallow scratches, but it is difficult to see any of it at arm's length. No cracks blemish any part of this pen, not even around the clip anchors. There is a little rust on the spring. It takes just a little extra effort to twist out and retract the snorkel. The 14k gold F2 nib writes a smooth, wet medium line. 14.1cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 1732 Sheaffer PFM V
Filling Mechanism: Snorkel
Era: 1950-1959
Price: $499.99
Vintage Pens: 1732: Sheaffer: PFM V
Few Sheaffer pens are as desired as much as the Sheaffer PFM series. Ours is a Sheaffer PFM V. This is the pinnacle of the PFM (Pen for Men) line, as it has a gold-plated cap and tail piece. Ours is in very good to excellent condition. You can see a little wear on the cap and barrel, but there are no egregious dents, cracks or deep scratches. The metal surfaces have light surface scratches from careful daily use. The snorkel filling system is in great working condition. We don't know when it was last restored, but the pen works perfectly. The inlaid 14k gold nib writes an extra-fine line. It is very firm but very reasonable with which to write. There can be a little feedback at some angles, but nothing extra-fine lovers haven't come to expect. The wide body is so nice for gripping without cramping. 13.5cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 0465 Sheaffer TM Triumph
Filling Mechanism: TouchDown
Era: 1950-1959
Price: $199.99
SOLD!
Vintage Pens: 0465: Sheaffer: TM Triumph
Only in production for a little more than 2 years, the Sheaffer TM Triumph is a handsome and dependable pen that uses Sheaffer's genius "TouchDown" filling system. The penultimate model of the TM line, this pen is gold-filled. It is in nearly pristine condition, only having a small impression in the barrel. There is no brassing or any other indentation of any kind. No engravings, either. It looks almost mint. We restored it with a new ink sac and O-ring. As you can see in the photo, there is no staining in the ink-view window. The two-tone 14k gold Triumph nib writes a smooth fine line. Clip is tight, but it has about a half a millimeter of play in it. 13.5cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 1519 Sheaffer Taranis
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $74.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1519: Sheaffer: Taranis
Sheaffer broke with its more traditional designs when it created the Sheaffer Taranis fountain pen. From its partially hidden nib to its elongated clip, Sheaffer set out to be unique, while maintaining its long-held grip on quality. This gently used pen is in excellent physical condition with very little noticeable trace of wear. The color design was known as "White Lightning." The trip is gold plated. The gold-plated nib writes a smooth fine line. We installed a converter in the pen, which also uses Sheaffer ink cartridges. It comes with its original inner and outer boxes. The pad of the inner box has some yellow and grey staining from some spilled ink we attempted to clean out. Sorry, no other papers. 13.9cm capped.
