Price: $349.99  Was: $399.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1623: Pelikan: 800K
Pelikan makes the best fountain pens of the modern era, in our opinion. Smooth, handsome, easy to operate, dependable. It is tough not to love them. This Pelikan Souveran 800K is blue with a black cap and gold trim. The flat top and bottom of the pen each have a gold end plate. The company logo on the cap shows a mama pelican and two chicks. We've flushed this pen, and the barrel has good clarity. The piston operates well. The two-tone 18k gold nib writes a thick medium line. The cap, barrel and the trim show just traces of wear with little scuffs. 14cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 1819 Conklin Herringbone
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $19.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1819: Conklin: Herringbone
PARTS! If you are looking for a great replacement Conklin Herringbone fountain pen cap or barrel, this is for you. Each of those parts is in great conditon. There are some marks of wear on the cap ring, but the rest in nearly perfect. HOWEVER, the section is split and totally ruined. A past owner coated it in paper and super glue in an attempt to save it, but that only made it worse. Strictly a parts pen. The stub nib is cool but it is iffy. 13.8cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 1793: Caran d’Ache: G (Marbled Green)
They say that the pen is mightier than the sword. If that is true, just imagine how mighty you will be wielding a pen with a sword clip! Green marbling makes this Caran d'Ache fountain pen look incredibly handsome. Solidly built and nicely weighted, you write with a pen of substance. Click the headline font for closeups, as you can see a little white chip in the lacquer finish near the tail of the barrel. Other than that, we don't think this pen has ever been used. Its converter is clean, and the box and papers are complete. The nib is a really nice broad 18k gold. 13.7cm capped.

Many people today can rightfully argue that S.T. Dupont makes some of the best engineered pens in the world. The smooth interlocking movements, fluid writing and elegant design all blend for an impressive writing instrument. This S.T. Dupont Orpheo is especially unique. It is a ballpoint pen that converts to a pencil. The pencil mechanism is a special insert that can be unscrewed and replaced in seconds with a S.T. Dupont ballpoint refill. This gently used model comes with its pencil insert and a BRAND NEW BALLPOINT refill. It is made of a durable Chinese lacquer. There are only marks of light surface wear on the pen. Pre-Owned Pens: 1762 Cross ATX
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $39.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1762: Cross: ATX
Cross still makes great daily user fountain pens. Take the Cross ATX for example. Ours has a durable metal cap and barrel that won't break when dropped (like a Mont Blanc.) It has a smooth-writing, medium steel nib. This pen uses Cross-only cartridges or a screw-in Cross converter. This pen comes with neither, but it is a bargain at more than 50% its original retail price. The bronze-colored, chrome-trimmed cap and barrel sport a record grove design that has no scratches, cracks or dents. We don't think it was used much at all. 13.9cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 1683 Montegrappa Cigar
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present
Price: $1,100.00
Pre-Owned Pens: 1683: Montegrappa: Cigar
Light up your pen collection with the most smokin' fountain pen ever made: the Montegrappa Cigar pen. This elegant pen is the size of a corona cigar, and it is made from a special celluloid designed to look like tobacco leaves with their change patterns and shades! The clip is held on by a cap band that looks like a cigar band. This forms the cap. If you unscrew the part of the cigar that you would light, it reveals the piston filler. The nib is a medium, two-tone 18k gold design. We aren't convinced this pen was ever used. If it was, it was used only once. It comes complete in a humidor shaped wooden case with a tropical scene embossed on leather for the top. The pen also includes its outer cardboard box and papers.
Pre-Owned Pens: 1688 Mont Blanc Copernicus
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present
Price: $1,999.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1688: Mont Blanc: Copernicus
Nicolaus Copernicus dealt the greatest blow to the ego of humanity when he discovered that the planets revolved around the sun and that the sun did not revolve around us. Of course the upshot was a more reliable calendar and vast improvements to scientific inquiry that make the world far more livable today than in the late 1400s and early 1500s. Mont Blanc pays tribute to him with this exquisite 2003 limited Edition Patron of the Arts fountain pen. Click the headline font to see one of MB's best nib designs in its history. Complete with all of its boxes and papers, all of the numbers on each matches. The filler moves smoothly, and we think this pen has only been used once or twice. Sterling silver trim makes the pen look like an early telescope. We love the mother-of-pearl Mont Blanc logo. 14cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 1682 Montegrappa Symphony
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $499.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 1682: Montegrappa: Symphony
Luxury is too crude a word for the incredible artistry of this hand-turned celluloid Montegrappa Symphony. The Italians put phenomenal detail into the sheets, waves and layers that bounce off and through the cap and barrel celluloid that took a full year to cure. All of the trim is made of sterling silver. Our preowned luxury pen appears to have been used once and put back away in its box. It includes the inner box, a hardcover booklet, papers, velvet carrying sleeve, converter and outer box. The two-toned 18k gold nib writes a smooth broad line! Nice and thick for easy all-day writing with less cramping. No one would fault you for wanting to spend all day staring at it as your turn it under a light. 13.6cm.
