Vintage Pens: Parker 51
Vintage Pens: 2596 Parker 51
Did you know the hooded nib was designed to help prevent ink evaporation? We've had Parker 51 pens in the past that stay ready to write, even if the cap was left off over night. We haven't tried it with this pen, but our Parker 51 has been fully restored with a new diaphragm. The barrel imprint is clear and reads that it is from the first quarter of 1947. Only the cowling of the nib is discolored, with a couple deep scratches. The 1/10th 16k gold filled cap is nice with only a couple little dents and scratches, with a tiny bit of brassing at the bottom of the cap. Click the headline to see it better in the photo. The nib is 14k gold and writes a smooth, wet extra-fine line. Very nice writer. 13.8cm capped.
