Vintage Pens: Parker 51
Vintage Pens: 3161 Parker 51
Revolutionizing pens once again, Parker released the Parker 51 to much fanfare stating that the pen was 10 years ahead of its time in 1941! Using the already popular Vacumatic filler, this pen sported a hooded nib that was both stylish and prevented quick dry-outs of the pen if left uncapped. Ours is date coded from the second quarter of 1946. It has been restored with a new diaphragm. Plus, it sports a sterling silver cap with an overlaying arrow pattern in the cap ring. The sterling has some wear but no serious dents. The hood and barrel are free of all but light wear. You can write a wet fine line with its 14k gold nib. A standard grey-plastic pearl jewel sits in the cap. 13.9cm capped.
