Vintage Pens: Waterman 7 Red Ripple
Vintage Pens: 3698 Waterman 7 Red Ripple
Modern lovers of vintage pens can't get enough of Waterman and its classic 14k gold nibs. Waterman's #7 pens are large pens that came in a rainbow of colors. The most important color on the pen was the ring on the cap. Each color signified a custom nib characteristic. Our red ripple Waterman's #7 is the Red Ring model. The Red was advertised as a medium point nib with semi-flex characteristics. Our pen has been restored with a new ink sac. The cap and barrel are about as close to mint as you will find. The trim has only 1% or 2% brassing. Click the headline for close-ups. You'll see a little scratch in the lip of the section where the nib fits in it. The nib also has a couple of scratches clustered together on the top tine of the photo. Writes great, as advertised, flexing to about 1.2mm. 14.2cm capped.
