Vintage Pens: Parker Vacumatic
Vintage Pens: 4109 Parker Vacumatic
Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
One of our very favorite pen models is the Parker Vacumatic. It has an ingenious filling system that uses a rubber diaphragm and a hollow barrel that allows it to hold far more ink than even most modern pens. Our "Major" (standard) sized model was made in the second quarter of 1948, the last year these pens were made. We restored it with a new diaphragm. Click the headline for a close-up. You'll write a lush medium line with its 14k gold nib. It has a little feedback now because we polished the nib, but that will smooth out as you write with it more frequently. Its imprint is barely legible, and there is heavy brassing on the cap bands. You can see a little damage on the clip ring. Plus, there are a couple of light bite marks on the blind cap. Overall, this vintage pen remains a great daily writer. 12.8cm capped.
