Vintage Pens: Esterbrook Dollar Pen Set
Vintage Pens: 4234 Esterbrook Dollar Pen Set
Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Esterbrook really pioneered a lot in this simple pen-and-pencil set. Our Esterbrook Dollar Pen is the slender "A" model. Made in the late 1930s or early 1940s, its coolest feature is the interchangeable nib system. You can unscrew the entire nib assembly to change or repair your nib. We restored the pen with a new ink sac. The nib assembly is the original one with the flat bottomed inkfeed. Its steel nib is a remarkably buttery smooth writer of a medium line. Click the headline for close-ups. The Esterbrook "P" pencil is also part of the "Dollar Pen" series. It is among the first clicker/injector lead pencils ever made. It uses 1.1mm leads and works great. Both instruments show wear from use but nothing terrible. The nose cone of the pencil is a little pitted. Works perfectly, includes spare leads. Pen measures 12.1cm capped.
