Vintage Pens: Sheaffer LAC
Vintage Pens: 4266 Sheaffer LAC
We aren't known for our museum-worth vintage pencils, but that is exactly what this still-stickered New Old Stock Sheaffer LAC pencil is. It appears to be an early "Radite" pencil from 1924 or '25. Click the headline for a close-up of the pencil and the sticker on the end cap. This is a 1.1mm lead-using pencil. The lead inside it seems to have been used once or twice and still moves up and down the pencil smoothly. Absolutely no brassing. Jostled a couple times over the past 97 years, the pencil shows only the lightest of wear. Pull out the gold-filled end cap to reveal a hardened eraser (slightly used) and the chamber of spare leads hidden by the eraser. 13cm.
