Vintage Pens: Sheaffer LAC
Vintage Pens: 4268 Sheaffer LAC
There is no sticker on this New Old Stock Sheaffer LAC pencil, but it looks pretty amazing for having been made in 1925. It appears to be an early "Radite" pencil. Click the headline for a close-up of the pencil. This is a 1.1mm lead-using pencil. The lead inside it seems to have been used once or twice and still moves up and down the pencil smoothly. Absolutely no brassing. Jostled a couple times over the past 96 years, the pencil shows only the lightest of wear. Pull out the gold-filled end cap to reveal a hardened eraser (slightly used) and the chamber of spare leads hidden by the eraser. 13cm.
