You could be looking at a galaxy glittering in the Japanese lacquer, but it is really crushed abalone shells used to recreate the stars in the barrel of this other-worldly fountain pen. You will find this rare pen is in like-new condition without any wear. We think it might have only been filled and written with once or twice. You will write a delightfully smooth medium line with its 18k gold nib. However, as it is a Japanese nib, it might be a little closer to a fine than European medium.
