Fountain Pen Nib Size: FLEXI
Click the headline to get this started properly and see the stunningly huge wet-noodle flexy 14k gold nib. Looks like a faded initial or two then "Newton & Co. / New York / No. 5." We've seen other brands size 8 nibs that look smaller than this nib. This vintage dip pen is large and exquisite. Although it isn't marked as such, it appears to have a sterling silver section and hollow barrel. Possibly a pencil was involved with the other end of the nib section, but it is missing and there is a large blemish that is easily seen in the photo. Dents blemish the end of the barrel. Nevertheless, this remains a beautiful 19th century pen. We aren't expert enough to wield it, yet it seems to write a nearly invisible extra-fine to 1mm line. 14.1mm fully extended, 10.3cm closed.
