Vintage Pens: Sterling Silver
Vintage Pens: 5047 Sterling Silver
Fountain Pen Nib Size: SF
Maybe it is the romantic in us, but we like to picture a Victorian lady dressed in a fancy frock biting the end of this sterling silver dip pen as she writes her lover. To say this pen is elegant is an understatement. Fairly large for a dip pen, it is still slender, but not as slender as many other pens we've seen. Aside from the beautiful design there are no other hallmarks or assays other than the word "Sterling," which appears twice on the barrel of the pen in relief and not as an imprint. We aren't sure if this pen is from the early 1900s or late 1800s. We included a new-old-stock Bronze Falcon Esterbrook 048 nib. You will write a very nice semi-flex line that goes from a fine to almost 1mm wide with some feedback. Aside from the bite marks on the tail taper, the only other blemishes are some spots of tarnish we can't quite polish out. 18cm.
