Pens and Ephemera
Vintage Pens: 4153 Carter’s Desk Pen
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Carter's inks were among the most popular inks of the 1920s and '30s. Eventually, they got the smart idea to make pens, too. This stunning blue-marbled desk pen is an incredible writer, and we wish we had the base for it to keep for ourselves. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. Its hard rubber parts are a little discolored with mild chocolate hazing. Its blue barrel is nearly perfect except for the half-inch or so the friction fits the section. It is whole and sound, but it is discoloring to an almost clear opaque. Its heart and soul is its smoooooth fine-medium nib. Amazing. You'll want to write with it all day. 21cm.
