Vintage Pens: 4014 Conklin Glider
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $39.99
Vintage Pens: 4014: Conklin: Glider
Own a piece of a scandal. When the venerable Conklin Pen Co. got bought out and moved to Chicago in 1938, it is rumored to have become a shell company for the mob. A couple of people have made potentially loose connections to that rumor but nothing is concrete. This Conklin Glider was around the cusp of 1940. You see great use of celluloids for the pen like this green one, but their quality control degraded sharply from their earlier days. We hope we have saved this pen, but we aren't sure. The clip, lever and lever wire are severely rusted. We cleaned as much of it up as we could and installed a new ink sac. It has a nice, smooth 14k gold nib that writes a fine line. Unfortunately, we don't know how long the lever wire and lever or clip will hold out. Discounted and sold as is, no returns. Good for first inexpensive experiment into vintage pens or good for parts to repair a better vintage Glider. 13.1cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 3643 Waterman Hemisphere
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1980-present
Price: $19.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 3643: Waterman: Hemisphere
Make math more fun with a classy pencil like this Waterman Hemisphere. We love the red-and-black pebble design. With only minimal wear, the pencil looks almost like new. Its eraser looks brand new, and there are spare .5mm leads in the pencil. Twist the back tail cap to advance the leads. 13.2cm.
Vintage Pens: 4009 Waterman 12
Filling Mechanism: Eyedropper
Era: 1910-1919   Fountain Pen Nib Size: FLEXI
Price: $125.00
Vintage Pens: 4009: Waterman: 12
It's always something. This woodgrain Waterman 12 is almost completely perfect, but its tiniest flaw is its largest. It is missing the tipping on one of the nib tines. Otherwise, this pen is practically museum perfect. No cracks in the orange hard rubber. Clean, easy-to-read imprints. Click the headline to see close-up photos. You can see the cap's 1898 patent date. Although you can't write with the nib until you get it re-tipped, it has some very nice flex. (Sorry, if we knew how to re-tip a nib we'd have done it.) Minimal wear on the pen. There's a little darker spot where the slip cap covers the section and barrel. The section unscrews easily to fill with an eyedropper. Soooo close to perfection, and yet so far. 13.6cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 3632 Waterman Elegance
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $249.99
SOLD!
Pre-Owned Pens: 3632: Waterman: Elegance
Floral barrel rings connect this Waterman Elegance to its 1920s Waterman overlay fountain pen history. Our preowned luxury pen looks great, except for some light, minor wear from minimal use. The inkfeed under the nib is marked "F" for fine, but we think it is definitely a medium by most standards. Either way, it is a very smooth writer. This pen takes standard international cartridges or converters, but unfortunately is missing its converter. 13.2cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4004 Waterman 52
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $79.99
Vintage Pens: 4004: Waterman: 52
Ride the wave of ripples down this orange hard rubber New Old Stock Waterman 52 pencil. Aside from a little tarnish, it remains in factory-new cosmetic condition, with a price sticker still attached. Unfortunately, the printing on that sticker has pretty well worn out. Twist the nose cone to advance the lead, but the lead doesn't seem to retract on its own...although the mechanism inside does retract when the nose cone is twisted in the opposite direction. Unscrew the blind cap on the tail to reveal a petrified eraser and a lead carrying tube that still has leads in it. The pencil uses 1.1mm lead. 14.1cm.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4002 Pelikan 650
Filling Mechanism: Rollerball
Era: 1980-present
Price: $199.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 4002: Pelikan: 650
There's luxury, and there's luxury. Why spend more on a Montblanc, when you can have a stunning Pelikan 650 rollerball pen with a vermeil cap! Yes, that's a solid sterling silver cap that is plated in gold! Our preowned luxury pen sports only light wear that is barely noticeable at arm's length. Presently, it has a working blue rollerball refill, but we have no idea how much ink actually remains. The secret trick to refilling this pen is to unscrew the blind cap in the tail. The golden mama pelican on the top of the cap is tending 2 little chicks. 13.2cm capped.
