World travelers often regard Florence (Firenze in Italian) as one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. Filled with Renaissance charm and wonder, its most noted building is the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with its famous egg-shaped dome. Mont Blanc pays tribute to this city of artists and artisans with the special edition Montblanc Firenze Legrand fountain pen. Wrapped in a soft, supple brown leather and accented in platinum plating, this is no ordinary Montblanc. Florence's Ponte Vecchio is engraved around the tail of the pen. The Montblanc logo is made from mother of pearl. We are not sure if this pen has ever been used. Comes with all of its boxes and papers. Guaranteed authentic. Overseas shipping might have an additional shipping charge, as there are a lot of boxes that go with this pen. Click the headline for a close-up.
Vintage Pens: 5118 Sheaffer Balance
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $59.99
Vintage Pens: 5118: Sheaffer: Balance
Good things come in small packages, they say, and we couldn't agree more when it comes to this Sheaffer Balance 875. Carmine is one of the rarer colors of the Balance line. Our vintage pen is free of cracks or significant scratches. There is some wear from use, including some brassing on the clip, lever and cap band, which has an obvious little hill of brassing on the band in the back. It is fully restored with a new ink sac. Nice deep imprint, except for the 875, which is legible but shallow. You can barely see through the ambered ink window. Yet, the star of this pen is its almost buttery smooth extra-fine, two-tone 14k gold nib! Short and slender at 12.3cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 5103 Mont Blanc Heritage Collection 1912
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $999.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 5103: Mont Blanc: Heritage Collection 1912
Mont Blanc absolutely knocked our socks off with this Montblanc Heritage Collection 1912 fountain pen! For us, it is a holy grail pen that beautifully combines vintage and modern pens. Paying homage to the safety fillers of 1912, this Montblanc also is like the modern Montblanc Boheme with a retractable nib. Better than the Boheme, which could only fill using cartridges, this pen fills with a normal, modern piston filler! The filling instructions are simple but not intuitive. Be sure to read the included original paperwork that also come with the original boxes. The pen is still stickered and looks like new! If it was ever used, it was used exceedingly sparingly. "Where did Robinson Crusoe go with Friday on Saturday night?" We can't get the old Max Morath song out of our head since photographing these Montblanc Daniel Defoe limited edition pens. This ballpoint version of the pen looks brand new and comes with all its complete boxes and papers. The resin body has lines that make it look a little like wood. Vintage Pens: 5084 Parker 51
Filling Mechanism: Aerometric Filler
Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 5084: Parker: 51
Parker 51 pens are not especially unique, but this is a vintage pen that was "Made in England." It is difficult to ascertain the color. In the sun it looks burgundy, but in this light it looks more like cordovan. Aerometric filling makes this pen easy to fill. It comes with its original pli-glass ink sac that still works well. We find its 14k gold nib writes a smooth medium line. The nib seems a shade off center from the hood point. There is some wear from use, but it is a nice looking pen, overall. No dents in the cap but some light scratches. 13.7cm capped.
