Vintage Pens: 4649 Parker 45
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Need a great workhorse pen? Might we recommend the Parker 45? With its slick late 1950s, early 1960s design these are just great all around daily drivers. This aquamarine 45 has seen a lot of action, as evidenced by the heavy wear on the barrel, but it sure isn't ready to retire. We put in a brand new authentic original converter, and it also takes modern Parker cartridges and converters. Its still nib is smooth with the light touch you should use while writing with a vintage pen. The nib is marked F for fine, but it leans closer to extra fine. 13.6cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4644 Pelikan K200
Filling Mechanism: Ballpoint
Looking more like an aurora borealis than "blue marble," our Pelikan K200 is a classic ballpoint pen. This one was a daily user and shows a little brassing and wear. The top of the clicker has a tiny yellow logo of a mama pelican and two chicks. You'll write a very smooth black line with its Parker gel refill! 13.2cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4646 Wahl-Eversharp Gold Seal
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Fountain Pen Nib Size: SF
Back in the day, all the major pen companies had their lifetime warranties. Wahl-Eversharp had the double-check gold seal. This Gold Seal ringtop set is especially nice. The pencil has perfect pearl-and-black celluloid and is in great working order with a 1.1mm lead. There are a couple scratches on the nose cone and some brassing on the ring-top tassie. We restored the vintage pen with a new ink sac. It has some discoloration in the cap and barrel but no cracks or significant scratches. What stands out is the 14k gold nib! Click the headline for a close-up. Imprinted is the magical word: "Semiflex." True, the cosmetics of the nib aren't good with lots of shallow scratches. However, the nib still performs well! You will write from fine to 1mm wide with a little expected feedback. It is a little larger for a ring-top pen at 11.9cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4643 Mont Blanc Classique
Filling Mechanism: Rollerball
If your initials are LLK, you are in luck! This Montblanc Classique rollerball pen was made just for you, as the initials LLK are engraved on the clip. Click the headline for close-ups. Even if those aren't your initials, this is an insanely good bargain on an authentic Montblanc Classic. It is one of the most recognized luxury pens on earth and will be sure to turn heads. Most people likely won't see the shallowly engraved initials. Even if they do, and those aren't yours, you can make up a great story. It is from your Long Lost Kid. Or it was given to you by someone you saved from a burning building. Or..., we're sure you'll think of something. It has the serial # in the clip band. We installed a brand-new authentic Montblanc fineliner felt-tip refill. 13.6cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 0566 Sheaffer 400
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Vintage pencils make math and crossword puzzles way more fun. Take this Sheaffer 400 pencil for example. It is an early devotee of the .9mm lead. You advance and retract it with a simple twist of the tail cap. It has some wear from use, but most of us do after 80 years. The worst of it is a few little scratches in the nose cone, which you can see in the photo. The carmine red pattern is one of the rarer color schemes from this era. The clip is on tightly. It no longer has its eraser, but it comes with a spare lead. 13.3cm.
Inkwells and Blotters: 4640 Porcelain Inkwell
Add some beauty and style to your desk with this porcelain inkwell with a floral design. Click the headline, and you can see that you lift the lid of the inkwell by the yellow rose to dip and fill your pen. A reserve dish behind the inkwell portion is for stamps, back when your could tear them from a perforated sheet and had to lick them. No cracks or chips mar the porcelain, but the gold piping along the edges is worn or missing in many places. There is what likely was part of a maker's mark on the bottom in the gold paint for the edging, but it, too, is mostly missing and indistinguishable. The flowers are all perfect. We dont't actually know when this was made, but the design suggests it might have been for a dip pen, yet the floral pattern seems a little more modern, which is why we guess the 1920s. However, we are not experts on porcelain inkwells and it could be earlier or later. International shipping might require more money than the site will ask. L: 14cm X W: 8cm X H: 7.5cm.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4642 Mont Blanc Generation
Filling Mechanism: Ballpoint
Taking a stab at modernizing its look, Germany's famed lux pen makers created the Montblanc Generation. This sleek ballpoint pen is a handsome pen that comes complete with a working blue refill. It has some light wear from use, but it is a great pen that will turn heads. We assume it is authentic, but it comes with a slightly different imprint than we are used to on the cap band "Montblanc Classic Germany." It has an authentic Montblanc ballpoint refill. We think it is the real thing, but we just wanted to let you know about the imprint, in case it makes a difference. 13.2cm.
Vintage Pens: 4636 Sheaffer FrankenSnorkel
Filling Mechanism: Snorkel
Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
It's A-LIVE! It's A-LIVE! We were sitting at the work bench the other day staring into the abyss of Sheaffer Snorkel parts that we have and were happy to discover we could create a complete pen from burgundy parts. And so we have. It is in great working order with a fresh ink sac, point seal and O-ring. Its barrel is New Old Stock, sporting a Sovereign chalk mark for a mythical pen with a "Flex Broad" nib! We sure wish we knew where that nib was. This comes instead with a fantastically smooth "palladium silver M6" medium nib. You will love writing with it. A great vintage pen for the Snorkel-Curious. Click the headline for close-ups. 14.1cm capped.
