Vintage Pens: Wahl-Eversharp Skyline
Vintage Pens: 2329 Wahl-Eversharp Skyline
Classic art deco styling makes the Wahl-Eversharp Skyline fountain pen a popular model so many years later. One of the earliest pens designed to cater to frequent fliers, it featured a breather tube that was supposed to equalize the air pressure inside the pen to the pressure outside the pen in an effort to keep the pen from making a mess in transit. Not really sure how well it worked in practice, but we've restored this one with a new ink sac and breather tube. A demi-sized pen, it is burgundy with a gold-filled cap shell. The shell is lightly dented in multiple locations and a little loose from its moorings...although we've tried to tighten it up a little. The barrel is engraved and worn. The 14k gold nib is a needle-point extra fine. Rare but scratchy no matter what anyone does to it. 12.2cm capped.
