Pre-Owned Pens: 4583: LeBoeuf: Greg Norman
You're gonna need a bigger pen case. That's right "The Shark" Greg Norman has his own limited edition LeBoeuf fountain pen. Ours is numbered 0672. This is the modern revival of the classic LeBoeuf pen company that first invented the celluloid pen. The PGA champion's autograph is on the black cap of this otherwise gold plated pen sporting an alternating design of plain stripes and a barley pattern. At the top of the cap appears to be an opal, perhaps a nod to his Aussie roots. Its two-tone 18k gold nib writes a smooth extra-fine line. Click the headline for a close-up. You can fill it with its included screw-in standard international converter or like cartridges. 14cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 4580: Esterbrook: J-1555 Gregg
It is amazing to us how the shades of green varied so much in Esterbrook J-model pens such as this one. There can be no doubting this is a lighter yellow-green. Overall, it is in great shape. No cracks or deep scratches--just light wear from use. It sports a still-fresh original Esterbrook-marked ink sac! Works great. The real surprise treat with this vintage pen is its surprisingly smooth extra-fine steel nib made for the Gregg writing method! Often these nibs are quite scratchy, but this one writes very well. 12.8cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4578 Sheaffer Imperial Desk Set
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 4578: Sheaffer: Imperial Desk Set
Go back to work looking your finest after the pandemic by kickin' it old skool with a classic Sheaffer Imperial Desk Set. This fountain pen and ballpoint set look fantastic. Light wear on the visible surface of the onyx/obsidian/black glass base. It has a couple small chips on the bottom leading edge. The Sheaffer logo on the opposite side has a couple letters scratched out. It comes with an unengraved brass plate. The ballpoint pen has a working black Sheaffer refill. The fountain pen has a working Sheaffer squeeze-bar converter but can also use Sheaffer cartridges. Its 14k gold nib writes an extra-fine line. It writes smoothly with a light touch. This is a large, clunky, heavy item. International shipping charges will likely be steeper than the usual amount the website knows to ask.

Vintage Pens: 4577: Esterbrook: Desk Pen
Dress up your desk with one of the top-selling pens of the 1950s, an Esterbrook Desk Pen. This is essentially an Esterbrook J-model pen with an 8-ball-esque holder. We don't think this pen has every been used. It has a still factory-fresh original Esterbrook-marked ink sac. We filled the pen with water, and there was no color when we emptied it. The pen shows some light wear. Its base only has wear around the steel accent ring. The original black felt is on the bottom of the base reading "Esterbrook / Desk Set / No. 112 / Made in U.S.A." Its 1550 nib is like writing with the corner of a razor blade. It is extra fine and it digs into the paper. Luckily these nibs unscrew and are very interchangeable. International shipping might cost extra to account for the size and weight.

Vintage Pens: 4570: Esterbrook: SJ-1550 N.O.S.
Teaching America how to write with an ink pen in the 1950s, Esterbrook SJ-models such as this New Old Stock piece were among the most requested by teachers in high schools and shorthand schools. Easily customized with more than 3 dozen nibs to suit many individual tasks, these pens were very popular. Our set comes with an still stickered fountain pen that we restored with a new ink sac. This vintage pen is in mint condition...and a minty green color. It comes with a still-stickered NOS TTJ pencil to match. The pencil appears to work but is missing its .9mm leads and eraser. We think the missing eraser might explain why the clicker part is sunken into the pencil. You will write a whisper-thin extra-fine line with the pens original 1550 steel nib that has a little feedback.

Filling Mechanism: Vacuum Filler
Era: 1940-1949   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $899.99
Vintage Pens: 4517: Parker: Oversize Vacumatic
Perfection is difficult to achieve in vintage pens, but this 1940 Oversize Parker Vacumatic gets close. No cracks, only light wear and incredible barrel clarity with celluloid that is on the light orange-dark yellow spectrum. No brassing. A feint barrel imprint. Close to perfect two-tone plating for the 14k gold nib. (Click the headline for a close-up.) YET, as you can see on the main photo, the name "James A. Kunkel" is engraved on the barrel. We looked up the name, and there are too many James Kunkels to know who owned this specific pen. You'll write an extra-fine line that is a bit dry but can sometimes look fine. Restored and in great working order. Museum worthy rare burgundy...yet, still a good writer. 13.5cm capped.

In 1936, Fred & Ginger lit up the silver screen in the classic "Swingtime," King Edward VIII abdicated the British throne to marry an American divorcé, television broadcasts first began, Jesse Owens showed up the Nazis in Berlin, Joe DiMaggio was a rookie, FDR won a second term and this Parker Vacumatic standard set in burgundy was made. It was an elegant era, and this pen in many respects marks the pinnacle of art deco design. This particular set is in excellent condition. No cracks, maybe 1% brassing, no scratches, restored and working. Its two-tone 14k has some cosmetic issues. Click the headline to see close-ups. It writes an extra-fine line with a little flex but not much. The matching pencil works great in excellent condition and comes with spare 1.1mm leads. Pen measures 12.8cm capped.
