Pre-Owned Pens: 5068: Namiki Pilot: Vanishing Point Decimo
One of our favorite innovations in fountain pen design was the clickable Parker Vanishing Point. This Decimo is slightly thinner than the standard size models, but it writes just as wonderfully well. Rare in the world of Pilot pens is this very broad 18k gold nib. You will find it to be smooth while allowing you to still feel the paper beneath your hand. It has some very light wear from use, a little scuffing on the silvery nose trim. It works perfectly and comes with a proprietary converter. It also can use proprietary ink cartridges. 14cm.
Vintage Pens: 5069 Parker Duofold
Filling Mechanism: Button Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $299.99
Vintage Pens: 5069: Parker: Duofold
Glittering bronze flakes juxtapose nicely against black flakes on this senior-sized streamlined Parker Duofold. There's minimal brassing and only light chocolate hazing on the end caps. Our vintage pen has been fully restored with a fresh ink sac. We think this is a British Duofold, but there is no mark indicating where it was made. Its faded imprint is still very legible. You will write a splendidly wet, juice broad line smoothly with its 14k gold nib. Click the headline for photos. 13.4cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 5058 Parker 51
Filling Mechanism: Aerometric Filler
Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 5058: Parker: 51
A rare broad nib helps this handsome teal blue Parker 51 Demi stand out from the crowd. Its aerometric filler makes it easier to fill, and its original pli-glass sac is still in great working order. The Demi models are a little shorter than the standard models, but it still feels great in your hand and writes well. You'll find a little light wear from use but nothing particularly stands out. Its nib is a degree or two off center but writes smoothly when you find the sweet spot. The broad nib is closer to modern day mediums, just a shade thicker. 12.8cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 4534 Parker VP
Filling Mechanism: Aerometric Filler
Era: 1960-1979   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $199.99
Vintage Pens: 4534: Parker: VP
Parker VP meant Very Personal. The revolutionary developments for this pen included an ergonomic grip for the fountain pen and a nib and feed that could be rotated to better accommodate for the grip and getting the nib to write from any angle. These are rarer pens, as they only made VPs for a couple years. It led to the monumental success of the Parker 75. This teal colored vintage pen has a major problem in its barrel. Click the headline for a close-up to see the 1.5cm crack in the barrel where it threads into the section. Basically, the crack is bad and makes the pen unstable to write with...without making the crack worse. This is a shame, as the aerometric filler unit is in great condition. In most VPs, this is the rare part that is whole. Its 14k gold nib writes a very smooth broad line. 13.8cm capped.

Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $499.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 4585: Namiki Pilot: Vanishing Point Raden Galaxy
Totally Rad. Check out the incredible urushi design on the limited edition Pilot Vanishing Point Raden Galaxy. Real pieces of crushed abalone shell are lacquered into the finish of this amazing design topped off with Rhodium-plated trim. Although it was used, it shows minimal wear. It comes with a box and converter. The pen barrel is is marked "Namiki" instead of the usual "Pilot." Its Rhodium-plated 18k gold nib also is stamped Namiki with the markings of "B" to indicate it is a broad nib. We find it writes smoothly, though you can feel the paper as you write. It also leans closer to an American or German medium nib, as is common for a Japanese nib. We cannot confirm this is the original box, as we have seen bamboo/wooden boxes for these pens. Yet, we guarantee the pen is authentic. 14cm.
Vintage Pens: 4150 Eclipse Desk Pen
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $49.99
Vintage Pens: 4150: Eclipse: Desk Pen
Joining us from either the late 1920s or the early 1930s is this Eclipse desk pen. We find it is a unique vintage pen. It has a celluloid barrel but a hard-rubber taper and section. Both of those elements are showing discoloration. Its nib is a Canadian-made "Warranted" nib of 14k gold. It writes very smoothly as a broad nib at a very low angle of attack on the paper. If you hold it more vertically, it is finer and scratchier. It should be easily shaped to whatever point you like best by a nibsmith. We restored it with a new ink sac. No desk base, just the pen. 20cm.
