1980-present Fountain Pen Nib Size:

$99.99It is nice to find a Parker Sonnet with an 18k gold nib. We think most of them are plated steel these days. That would seem to date this pre-owned pen a little. Solidly built, this pen shows a some wear in places, but it is in great shape. It comes with a Parker converter, but it also can use Parker cartridges. Click the headline for close-ups. You will write a smooth broad line when you find the sweet spot. This pen also squeaks a little as it writes and can get a little scratchy outside of its sweet spot. 13.4cm capped.

5908 Sailor 1911 Filling Mechanism:
Cartridge/ConverterEra:
1980-present Fountain Pen Nib Size:

$125.00The legendary Sailor Zoom Nib is on this petite-sized Sailor 1911 fountain pen. It is a beautiful pre-owned pen with minimal wear. Also included is a Sailor box, but we don't know if it is the original box. These items were found separately. Made of 14k gold, the Zoom nib allows a writer to enjoy a broad, medium and fine line. We find that holding the pen at a 45-degree angle gets us a very smooth broad line. Hold it more perpendicular to the paper and it delivers a slightly rougher feeling medium. Turn it over to write with the "top" of the nib for an extra-fine to fine line that we feel is a little scratchy. Also included is a converter. 13.6cm capped.

$99.99SOLD!Incised cap bands on an Esterbrook Dollar Pen are an uncommon find, which make this vintage pen a little special. Unfortunately, you can see the clip is not properly set in the top of the cap. Otherwise, the pen is in really good shape. We restored it with a new ink sac. No cracks but some wear from use. We love its steel 9668 nib. It is a buttery smooth medium-broad. You'll love writing with it. 12.1cm capped.

5665 Sheaffer Imperial Filling Mechanism:
Cartridge/ConverterEra:
1960-1979 Fountain Pen Nib Size:
BPrice:
$199.99SOLD!Sheaffer Imperial pens remained in production for nearly 40 years. They were one of the last of the great golden era fountain pens released by Sheaffer. We believe this stunning Sheaffer Imperial to be from the mid-1970s. Close to mint condition, this rarer sterling silver model sports a barley corn pattern. You have to look insanely hard under the right light to find a kiss of a dimple in the cap. The rest is pretty surprisingly nice. It comes with its original aerometric style converter, and it also can take Sheaffer cartridges. You will write a nice broad line with its 18k gold inlaid nib. We actually filled this one up and wrote with it all the way dry. The nib is smooth, but it does have some hard starts, which can get annoying. 13.1cm capped.

$69.99For as handsome as this moss green-grey vintage pen is, it features some of the weaknesses of 1940s Waterman manufacturing. Our Waterman 2 has a crack in the top of the cap and in the lip of the cap. Its pocket clip spins freely. We restored this pen with a new ink sac. You'll find nice Canadian Waterman imprints. Click the headline for a close-up of the 14k gold nib. When you find the sweet spot on the nib, you will write a smooth broad line. It gets a little scratchy when you lose the sweet spot. Oh, and its inkfeed is a modern replacement feed. 12.8cm capped.

1980-present Fountain Pen Nib Size:
BPrice:
$199.99Fans of Sailor pens know that ZOOM nibs are a special treat, and we are happy to report that this standard-size Sailor 1911 has a Zoom nib! For the uninitiated, the Zoom nib is a 14k gold broad nib. In the world of Japanese nibs, it might be considered a double or triple broad. For American and European nib enthusiasts, we dipped it and it looks mostly like a regular broad nib. Regardless, aside from a scuff on the pocket clip, this pen looks like new. It also comes complete with its original boxes and converter. 13.6cm capped.

4534 Parker VP Filling Mechanism:
Aerometric FillerEra:
1960-1979 Fountain Pen Nib Size:
BPrice:
$199.99Parker VP meant Very Personal. The revolutionary developments for this pen included an ergonomic grip for the fountain pen and a nib and feed that could be rotated to better accommodate for the grip and getting the nib to write from any angle. These are rarer pens, as they only made VPs for a couple years. It led to the monumental success of the Parker 75. This teal colored vintage pen has a major problem in its barrel. Click the headline for a close-up to see the 1.5cm crack in the barrel where it threads into the section. Basically, the crack is bad and makes the pen unstable to write with...without making the crack worse. This is a shame, as the aerometric filler unit is in great condition. In most VPs, this is the rare part that is whole. Its 14k gold nib writes a very smooth broad line. 13.8cm capped.
