5592 Montegrappa 2-Pen Pouch Era:
1980-presentPrice:
$49.99Leather craftsmen (or women) created this dignified 2-pen pouch in Italy. The front and back of the case are firm, while the sides have a little give. Saving wear and tear on the closure is a magnet instead of the leather loops, most cases have. It can easily fit 2 fairly large pens around the size of a Montblanc 146...maybe even a 149, though that might be pushing it. It comes with its original box. There are a couple scratches or marks on the back side's leather.

$299.99It would appear that our Montegrappa Nerouno Duetto fountain pen is New Old Stock. No trace of wear or ink usage. We like the texture of the uniquely cut black-celluloid barrel and silvery cap. This preowned luxury pen comes with its original boxes and booklet. Its 18k gold nib has a really unique pattern and is marked M for a medium point. Click the headline for a close-up. A great pen design from one of Italy's very best pen makers. 14cm capped.

$4,999.99Ever wonder what it felt like for Howard Carter to be the first to enter King Tut's tomb after hundreds of years? Entering the enchantingly elaborate and beautiful Montegrappa Luxor pen might be as close as most of us get. A modern pen, it carries the weight and history of Egypt's ancient pharaohs. Its sparkling blue cap and barrel represent the life-giving Nile river. Sterling silver hieroglyphs surround the pen. Like many of the items tucked into Tut's tomb, this pen is New Old Stock and never before used. Protected by a suede wrap in a woven shroud, the pen is completely scratch, dent and crack free. The piston-filler seems stuck from disuse, but this pen is more decorative art than daily user. Additional shipping charges may apply due to the unusually large height and weight of the boxes.

$999.99The roaring '20s were such a fantastic time for automobile racing. The technology was evolving quickly and no race course was too dangerous. Italy's 1000 Miglia (1000-mile Race) was a huge international challenge, tempting the world's greatest drivers to its inaugural run in 1927. The Montegrappa 1000 Miglia fountain pen pays tribute to the 70th anniversary of this first race. Its sterling silver overlay features etched images of the adventure. The racing red celluloid is stunning in the light. We do not believe this pen has been used. It remains in pristine condition. Click the headline for close-ups. Unfortunately, the faux-leather box looks as if it has just raced for 1,000 miles. This faux leather looked great when new and was quite popular with Waterman, too, but it erodes badly with time. Complete box and papers.

$999.99The artistry of Italian craftsmen at Montegrappa never ceases to impress. This special Montegrappa Extra Stylographe fountain pen seems to harness the warmth and happiness of the sun on even the coldest nights. Orange flames of celluloid shoot up and down the cap and barrel of this preowned luxury pen, tempered by sterling silver accents. We aren't sure if this pen has ever been used. It looks as if it is new old stock. The only possible clue it was used is the bottle of blue ink that comes with it looks as if it might be drawn down by one or two refills. We filled the pen with water, and the water came out clear. The piston filler works well. However, it has a unique ticking and vibration, as if it is geared like a clock. We didn't write with it, but it has an 18k gold nib that writes a medium line. Complete with original boxes and papers.
