Vintage Pens: Sheaffer Marine Green Pencil
Vintage Pens: 2376 Sheaffer Marine Green Pencil
Marine Green was one of the rarer colors made by Sheaffer in the 1930s. Yet, its deep jungle green marbling is truly handsome and eye-catching. This pencil is in great working order whose lead advances and retreats smoothly with a twist of the tail cap. It has a little brassing on the nose cone, cap band and clip. The wear is light to moderate, but we polished it to a gleaming shine. And faint imprint on the back of the cap indicates this was made in Canada in or with patents in 1929-30-31. A hardened blue eraser is under the cap, as are several spare leads. We want to say they are the standard 1.1mm leads, but they actually look a little thicker to us. 12cm.
