Wahl-Eversharp "Gold Bond" Doric with medium 14k flex nib, circa 1935. "Gold Bond" was the name Montgomery Ward used for pens they had manufactured under contract, and these use a different celluloid than Wahl-Eversharp branded pens. OMAS made this pen as an accessory for legendary Italian menswear company Brioni. It was also given as a gift to some of their top clients. If you're not familiar with Brioni, they make the suits favored by a small circle of powerful men, CEOs, billionaires and several James Bonds. This pen is beautiful, hefty but not heavy, and made of horn, chocolate in color with a lighter grain running through it. It has an 18K gold nib. It originally retailed for around $2350. It is previously owned, but in excellent condition and was never inked. There is however a tiny, hairline scratch on the barrel that is only visible in bright light if you search hard for it. It also comes with Brioni branded ink (the box the ink comes in looks like it's wearing a suit). Made about seven years ago in a very limited quantity. There is no record of one of these ever being resold online.

We are offering a Limited Edition Montblanc fountain pen from the patron of the art series. The pen is dedicated to Pope Julius II. This particular pice is the 623rd from the 888. It is solid 18 kt yellow gold (not an overlay), fenestrated like the windows of a Gothic Cathedral to reveal deep claret-colored engraving of wavy guilloche enamel work. The guilloche engraving on the 888 Pope Julius II is not sealed with layered coats of glossy lacquer. The deep and wide guilloche engraving is open and gives the design a visual texture. The pen comes in a thin cardboard box, which is printed with a section from Raphael’s portrait of Pope Julius II in a red Papal mozzetta. Within the cardboard box there is a highly polished rosewood casket that holds the pen. A cast bronze gilt raised medallion is mounted on the front of the presentation casket, and shows Pope Julius II in bas relief profile. The pen is brand new, never was used, not even filled.
