Vintage Pens: Parker 51 Demi
Vintage Pens: 3160 Parker 51 Demi
Parker stunned the pen world in 1948 by releasing the pen with a new filling system: the aerometric filler. Going from complicated Vacumatic to the simple squeeze bar of the aerometric made the "most advanced" pen of the time even more popular with the people. This is a very early model of the shorter demi from 1949 in the somewhat hard-to-find forest green with a 12k gold filled cap. The original silicon sac is still in good working order on this vintage pen that was made to last. The barrel is nearly perfect with minimal wear, but the bottom of the hood looks like it skidded for half a second on sand paper. The cap is dent-free and with only a scratch and light wear. Its original 14k gold nib writes a smooth fine line. 12.8cm capped.
