Vintage Pens: 4068 Sheaffer Craftsman
Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Running short on metal after 4 years of world war, Sheaffer reimagined the idea of a cap band for the 1945 Sheaffer Craftsman. Demure and classy, it looks great on this carmine straited fountain pen. The pen shows some wear, but the carmine celluloid finish distracts from the imperfections. No brassing. No cracks. We restored the pen with a new ink sac. The ink viewing window is still greenish and clear. Click the headline for close-ups. Its two-tone 14k gold nib writes a Japanese extra-fine line with a little feedback. You'll read the imprint clearly, and the "500" under the imprint meant it was a $5 pen when new. 12.5cm capped.
