Aikin Lambert
Pens and Ephemera

James Aikin and Henry Lambert began making fine writing instruments in 1864. They designed some of the most elegant luxury pens of the Gilded Age in NYC. L.E. Waterman hired Aikin Lambert to produce its famous flexible nibs of the 1910s and '20s! Unfortunately, the Aikin Lambert pen brand lost steam during the 1920s and faded to oblivion during the Great Depression.

Vintage Pens: 5323: Aikin Lambert: Capitol Cabinet
This new old stock pen is the real McCoy, the bee's knees, if ya know what I mean. Roaring Twenties pens are tons of fun. Take this Aikin Lambert Capitol Cabinet fountain pen for example. It is a black chased hard rubber pen without any cracks and its original nib sticker! We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. And is it ever fun to write with! Its 14k gold nib writes a very smooth fine line and with some gentle pressure, it turns into a semi-flex that gets close to 1mm wide a line! Deep crisp imprints. This beauty's a winner, Chum. 13.6cm capped.
