Pens and Ephemera
Pre-Owned Pens: 1847 Krone Liquid Red Fury
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Using techniques perfected by Fabregé, Krone made a stunning skeletal structure of sterling silver for its Liquid Red Fury fountain pen. This luxury pen is made from a thick chunk of silver. At its foundation is a precisely engraved guilloché pattern into the silver. It dazzles under a ruby-red enamel. Numbered 80 of 888, it is a work of art that comes with its original box but not papers. The 18k gold nib is marked fine, but it writes more like a medium. Pre-Owned Pens: 2860 Krone Ivory
Filling Mechanism: Rollerball
Silver trim on a beautiful ivory celluloid makes for a head-turning combination. There are so many subtle layers to the cap and barrel, you'll have fun getting lost in them. The pen has a nice girth and weight, which helps it roll along quite smoothly. We aren't sure what the model name for this Krone rollerball pen is. But a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. Unscrew the blind cap in the tail to reveal the standard rollerball cartridge. We include a new one with the pen. 14cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 2859 Krone Grey Marble
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Like smoke from a heavy brush fire blowing into town, this Krone fountain pen has stunning layers always changing in the light. We aren't sure what the model name is, but it is a standard length pen with some girth. Its silver trim is a nice touch, but that celluloid is fantastic. Aside from our dip test, we don't think this pen has ever been used. The piston works smoothly and well. The 18k gold nib is marked medium and writes medium with little squeaking and feedback but not much. It might adjust with daily writing and conform better to your hand. 14cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 2850 Krone Panther
Filling Mechanism: Button Filler
Slinking through the urban jungle, the elusive Krone Panther is one smooth luxury pen as it pounces on the pages of your life. We love the retro button-filling system on this pre-owned pen. The original ink sac is good and held water when we flushed the system, which didn't seem to have much previous ink in it. There is almost no wear on the cap or barrel. We polished up the silver trim that offers such nice contrast to the all black pen. The two-tone 14k gold nib writes a delightfully smooth, wet medium line. Thickness in the section makes the pen easier to grip for long periods of writing without cramping. 12.6cm capped.
