Vintage Pens: 2363: Wahl-Eversharp: Fountain Pen
With the end of World War II, so came the decline and fall of the Wahl-Eversharp pen company. Unable to match the design genius of earlier eras, the company focused on more simple designs such as this vintage pen. It is still a very good fountain pen, which we have restored with a fresh ink sac. It is just a less exciting design. It was a daily user, and its moderate wear is evident. However, there are no cracks. The 14k gold nib writes a fine-medium line with up to 1mm FLEX! Definitely not a wet noodle, but it has flex that can be trained and adapted to you hand for a very reasonable price. 13.8cm capped.

Eversharp Skylines feature great bullet-shaped art deco design from the 1940s. Our's is a junior sized Frankenpen in need of a loving home. We restored it with a fresh ink sac. The original 14k gold nib writes a buttery smooth wet, fine line. It is ideal for daily use. The deep burgundy barrel shows moderate wear with a few heavy spots. The blue-pinstriped green cap, has some deep "pits" and moderate wear but no cracks. The cap dome is dark blue. The trim shows moderate brassing. A great writer that you can afford to knock around. 12.4cm capped.

Need a great daily beater to be both a loyal companion and sacrificial lamb...in the event someone walks off with it? Maybe you want to teach a child the joys of writing with a vintage pen? This Eversharp fountain pen is the pen for you. We have restored this standard black fountain pen from the late 1940s or early '50s with a new ink sac. It comes with an alloy nib that writes a wet, medium line with a hint of feedback...particularly on ascenders and descenders. Still, it isn't bad. Some people love it; others hate it. The biggest flaws with the pen are a big U-shaped scratch on the barrel and fading/loss of plating on the cap ring. Otherwise, it is ready for great daily use. 13.7cm capped.

Classic art deco styling makes the Wahl-Eversharp Skyline fountain pen a popular model so many years later. One of the earliest pens designed to cater to frequent fliers, it featured a breather tube that was supposed to equalize the air pressure inside the pen to the pressure outside the pen in an effort to keep the pen from making a mess in transit. Not really sure how well it worked in practice, but we've restored this one with a new ink sac and breather tube. A demi-sized pen, it is burgundy with a gold-filled cap shell. The shell is lightly dented in multiple locations and a little loose from its moorings...although we've tried to tighten it up a little. The barrel is engraved and worn. The 14k gold nib is a needle-point extra fine. Rare but scratchy no matter what anyone does to it. 12.2cm capped.

This pen is black with a 24k gold tip. The body has some wear and the pen does work. I'm not sure what age the pen is. The pen was in a box with other items found in an antique store.
