We weren't aware Laban made such classy pens until we saw this special ballpoint pen. The pen is marked sterling silver and has a gold-plated finish. We aren't sure of its official model name, so we are simply calling it the Laban Vermeil. This pen has almost no wear at all. It looks a little like a Caran D'Ache but has 8 sides. It is currently loaded with a Parker-style ballpoint refill with blue gel ink. It writes divinely. Click the headline for a close-up of the sterling mark on the pen. 14cm capped.

Australia's pre-eminent luxury pen maker is here! Our Curtis Streamlined looks stunning with its red marbled cap and barrel and sterling silver trim. The red celluloid looks like the shimmering layers of a freshly licked lollipop. There's a nice width to the pen that isn't oversized but wide enough to help prevent cramping from long writing sessions. There are only light traces of wear that can only be seen on very close inspection. The Parker-style ballpoint refill works, extending and retracting with a twist of the tail cap. 13.6cm.
Vintage Pens: 2806 Parker Jotter

Era: 1950-1959
Price: $299.99
Vintage Pens: 2806: Parker: Jotter
Ballpoint pens weren't invented in 1954, but that was the year they were finally perfected. Parker Jotter ballpoint pens were released that year to great fanfare. Cap-free and clickable, the most important part of this pen was its long-lasting, convenient refill. How successful was it? That refill and the Parker Jotter are still being made today! More than that, most major pen manufacturers have adopted the Parker ballpoint refill for their own pens! Our first-year Parker Jotter comes in one of the rarest colors: marine blue. Closer to turquoise, marine blue was the name Parker gave the color. Its barrel is ribbed and the inverted "V" clip are hallmarks of all first-year pens. There are no cracks, but there is a little wear from use. The refill is fairly recent and working. 12.7cm.

Era: 1980-present
Price: $49.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 2479: Cross: Verve
Cross Verves were bold, futuristic pens that just never caught fire with the public when they first came out. Now they are edging closer to the more collectible side of life. This is a very gently used Verve ballpoint. Its wide grip makes it easier to write all day. The slightly textured, deep-blue metal finish keeps it from being slippery. It comes with a working blue refill, but we don't know how much ink remains. 14.5cm.
