Pre-Owned Pens: 6615: Mont Blanc: 147 Traveler
Discontinuance has made the Montblanc 147 Traveler one of the most popular luxury pens on the collector market. Better yet, this is an even more rare "Bordeaux" color. What made the 147 unique in the Montblanc catalog was that it is a cartridge-only luxury fountain pen. It ONLY takes standard international cartridges. The pen looks to be in near mint condition with only minimal wear. You will write a fairly smooth medium line with its two-tone 14k gold nib. But wait, there's more. It includes its special, custom leather case. The pen is about the same size as a 146 and measures about 14.5cm capped.

Bright light gleams like the sun off the brilliant Wancher Dream Pen Rising Sun maki-e fountain pen. Our pen appears to be in mint or near-mint condition and never used. It doesn't show any staining from ink. We love the dragon winding its way down the pen. Click the headline for close-ups. Its 18k gold nib is marked "M" for medium. We have not dipped it, as we think this pen is new old stock. We wish we had the box and papers. Includes its original standard international converter. 15.5cm capped.

Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $69.99
Vintage Pens: 6654: Sheaffer: Valiant
We love the ease of the pneumatic filling of a Sheaffer Valiant TM. This vintage pen is better known as the thin model of the TouchDown filler. We replaced the O-rings and ink sac. This classic Sheaffer from the early 1950s shows a little wear from use but no cracks or deep scratches. Click the headline for close-ups. It comes with a conical "Triumph" nib. It is a two-tone 14k gold nib, and you will write a smooth, wet medium line with it. A great daily driver and an excellent addition to get started on using vintage pens. 13.6cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 6546 Sheaffer Sentinel
Filling Mechanism: Snorkel
Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $149.99
Vintage Pens: 6546: Sheaffer: Sentinel
As ballpoints were gaining popularity in the 1950s for their no-mess filling and writing, Sheaffer got clever with its TouchDown filling system and upgraded it to have a "snorkel" that dipped in ink and never needed wiping down. Quite the feat of engineering, it was a brilliant and popular solution for people who preferred writing with fountain pens. This is the Sheaffer Sentinel model of that snorkel pen in the less-common color known as "buckskin beige." Our vintage pen has been fully restored with a new ink sac, point seal and O-ring. Aside from a little mark on the barrel and a hint of a dimple left of the pocket clip on the cap, this pen look pretty sharp. You will write a nice medium line with its two-tone 14k gold "Triumph" nib. 14.1cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 6335: Faber Castell: Graf von Faber-Castell Sahara
Sahara models of the Graf von Faber-Castell line really stand out for their color and design. The barrels are plastic with a barley design and texture. The ends are likely rhodium-plated. The writing experience is everything you expect from this German luxury brand. You will write a fine-medium line with its 18k gold nib. The fountain pen looks to be in excellent condition. Just some light wear from use, and it includes its converter. The rollerball pen is a little more worse for wear with brassing/pitting in the back of the top of the cap and nose cone. Original box and papers included. 13cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 6540 Parker Duofold
Filling Mechanism: Vacuum Filler
Era: 1940-1949   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 6540: Parker: Duofold
In the second quarter of 1942, the United States was getting its tail kicked pretty hard around the Pacific and U-boats were making a mess of our shipping efforts in the Atlantic. Nevertheless, this Parker Duofold was made and has persevered ever since. We found it in a well-cared for collection in good working order, so we didn't replace the diaphragm. Its blue-and-grey stripes really stand out as an art deco beauty. The pocket clip and clip ring are pretty chewed up, but the celluloid is in very good shape. Nice aluminum speedline filler. You will write a smooth medium line with its 14k gold nib. Slightly smaller and more slender than some Duofolds. 12.3cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 6351 Pelikan Ductus
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $499.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 6351: Pelikan: Ductus
Black with platinum-plated trim...or is it rhodium plating...always looks sharp on a luxury pen. Our preowned luxury pen is a Pelikan Ductus. These handsome beauties were only made for a short while. For Pelikan aficionados it is an 800-size pen. Click the headline for a close-up of the unique design of its 18k gold nib. It is marked "B" for broad, but when we tested it, we thought it felt more like a buttery smooth medium with a little line variation. Also unique to this pen is that it is cartridge only. Unscrew the blind cap in the tail to reveal a cartridge carriage that hold two standard international size cartridges...no converters. The cap logo is a frosted, silvery mama pelican with one chick. 14.3cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 6602: Wahl-Eversharp: Symphony
Following up the huge success of the Eversharp Skyline pen was the Eversharp Symphony. This first edition of the pen featured another great cap design by Rey Loewy. Although it is called the "slipper cap," we think it looks more space-agey. We restored this great green-and-gold-filled vintage pen with a new ink sac. It has a little wear from use, but it is still a pretty amazing pen. You will write a very smooth medium line with its 14k gold nib. 13.9cm capped.
