Vintage Pens: 5392: Parker: Duofold
As Charlie Brown points out, even the ugly tree in the lot needs love. Same goes for pens. Our streamlined senior Parker Duofold in the black-and-pearl motif has a lot of issues. Fully restored with a new ink sac, you can see how heavily discolored it is and how much brassing it has. Worse still, the barrel threads are cracked. However, the section still seems snug in the barrel. Its 14k gold nib is a little scratchy but it is ready to write and give you a senior Duofold thrill or two. 13.1cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 5077 Sheaffer 41 Autograph
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1920-1929   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $649.99
Vintage Pens: 5077: Sheaffer: 41 Autograph
You can't get much closer to perfection on the hard rubber cap and barrel on a rare Sheaffer 41 Autograph model pen than this. Its chasing and imprint are as crisp as the day it was made. Zero chocolate hazing. Its 41 imprint in the flat tail has orange paint or chalk in it, which apparently isn't original. Not a trace of brassing on its extra-wide gold-plated cap band, clip and lever. The ONLY flaw is the teeniest, tiniest little dimple a 25% turn to the left of the clip in the center of the cap band. That's it, and you'll miss it if you don't specifically look for it. Our vintage pen is fully restored with a new ink sac. It has a replacement 14k gold Lifetime nib without the serial number AND an original spear-point inkfeed. You will write a fine line with a little feedback, but we don't think most people will be making such a beautiful specimen a frequent writer. It is an impressive vintage pen, especially in this condition. Click the headline for close-ups. 13.5cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4533 Parker VP
Filling Mechanism: Aerometric Filler
Era: 1960-1979   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $299.99
Vintage Pens: 4533: Parker: VP
Parker VP pens heralded many great innovations in their short production run. Without these pens, the Parker 75 would never have been the mega hit it became. Our favorite innovation is the adjustable nib. You can carefully pinch the nib and turn it to the left or right to better suit how your hand grips its ergonomic section. Click the headline for close-ups of the pen and nib. Our vintage pen is in good working order. It comes with an original aerometric filler with the see-though window. Many of these are broken in other pens, but our's is still intact! There are no cracks in the cap or barrel, just some light to moderate wear from use. The only dent is under the arrow clip. Its 14k gold nib writes a fine line with a little feedback. 13.7cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4104 Parker Lucky Curve
Filling Mechanism: Button Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $75.00  Was: $99.99
Vintage Pens: 4104: Parker: Lucky Curve
Saving people money during the Great Depression, Parker set out to make a more affordable series of pens. This ringtop model is a rare example of an early plastic they used with a really attractive red pattern. The faint imprint says Parker Lucky Curve, however, on restoring the pen, it doesn't have a Lucky Curve feed. In fact, its feed is missing a couple collector fins. We installed a new ink sac and pressure bar. Click the headline to see the old plier mark damage on the section. Its 14k gold nib writes a very nice extra-fine to fine line...AND it has a little FLEX. Overall, the pen only shows light wear. Unfortunately, there is one more hitch. The new pressure bar forces the button to ride a little higher than it used to, and the streamlined blind cap doesn't seat all the way down properly. You can see it in the photo. 11.5cm capped.
