Vintage Pens: 5132 Parker 51
Filling Mechanism: Vacuum Filler
Era: 1940-1949   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $125.00
Vintage Pens: 5132: Parker: 51
In the first quarter of 1946, when this Parker 51 was made, it was a time of boundless optimism. The war was over, the baby boom was just starting, business was thriving and anything seemed possible. Who knows what this vintage pen might have helped record? We do know it has been fully restored with a new diaphragm and that it still looks pretty sharp. Only a few very small marks can be found on the gold-filled cap. Its original blue enamel is missing just a touch in the center of the diamond. The hood and barrel show a little more wear from use, but it isn't bad at all considering it is 76 years old. You will write an extra-fine line with its 14k gold nib. Unlike so many vintage American nibs, this really is more like an accountant's nib or Japanese extra-fine nib. You'll feel the paper beneath you as your write, but it isn't scratchy. Genuine feedback and smooth. 13.6cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 5131 Parker 51
Filling Mechanism: Aerometric Filler
Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $149.99
Vintage Pens: 5131: Parker: 51
Possibly the most popular luxury pen of the vintage pen era was the Parker 51. This workhorse was sleek and nearly flawless in its performance. Our Parker 51 is a later model from the 1950s. It has a good working "pli-glass" ink sac that you squeeze to refill. Better known as an aerometric filler, it was one of many popular innovations the 51 brought to the market. Also great were its hooded section that covered an all-but leak proof inkfeed system. It might be difficult to see in the photo, but this is a very deep burgundy set. Light wear from use on the writing instruments. The matching pencil still works great with a click. Comes with spare .9mm lead and a potentially working eraser!

Paging Dr. Tonne. Who knows how many lives this pen might have helped save. All those prescriptions written, records maintained, maybe even research papers drafted. We restored this workhorse pen with a new ink sac. As you can see, it is proudly engraved. It might be harder to see in the photo, but the pen has moderate to heavy wear. No cracks in the lip of the cap but a tiny, shallow chip. There might be a tiny crack under the pocket clip, but we aren't sure. Ample brassing on the cap band and pocket clip. Still, this makes for a good daily driver. You will write a complicated mostly smooth, slightly scratchy line with its juicy, medium nib made of two-tone 14k gold. 14cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 5122 Mont Blanc Hemingway
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $2,499.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 5122: Mont Blanc: Hemingway
Creating an instant classic, few pens are as desired as the Montblanc Hemingway in the company's venerable catalog of luxury pens. Based on a much earlier model of the Montblanc pen that famed American author Ernest Hemingway picked up in Europe, this pen was the first of the Writers Series pens released by Montblanc. Since it came out in 1992, this pen seems to have been used only once or twice. There's a very thin black ring on the white piston plunger, but otherwise this pen seems unused. There are two tiny, tiny scratches on the tail and one more of a tiny imprint than scratch on the cap. You won't see them if you are looking hard for any of them. Almost like new! The piston works very smoothly, and the nib is a medium. You get the complete boxes and papers. Click the headline for close-ups! 13.3cm capped.
