Pre-Owned Pens

Blue-pen lovers that we are, we think there is no topping the Pelikan City Series Stockholm pens for looks. It is easily the most attractive of the "cities." Ours is in excellent working worker, showing only minimal wear from use. We find it rather amusing that it comes in the "Grand Place" city series pen's box. It is the right size and shape box for the Stockholm, just the wrong labels on the box. Click the headline to see close-ups of the pen and nib. Marked "M" for medium, you will find that this two-tone 18k gold nib writes a buttery smooth double broad line. It is a gusher. Located on the top of the cap's black "jewel" is a frosted gold logo of a mama pelican and two chicks. 13.1cm capped.

It is difficult to find these one-year only blue Pelikan Souveran M805 fountain pens with silvery trim. They had a short production run and they weren't flying off the shelves nearly 20 years ago, as they do today. This is the first 805 that we've seen in this color scheme. We've seen far more of the M605s in this color scheme. Anyhow, our pen is in excellent working order. It does have a little wear from use, but it isn't bad. No cracks or deep scratches. You will write a fine line--bordering on extra-fine--with its two-ton 18k gold nib. It is both smooth and sensitive enough to provide the lightest of feedback. It comes with a Pelikan box. The logo background is black with a white mama pelican and two chicks on top of the cap. 14cm capped.

Celebrating Italy's hosting of the 1990 World Cup soccer tournament, the green of this modern classic luxury pen symbolizes the color of the soccer pitch. There is a checkerboard design to the usual gold-plated cap band. Our preowned luxury pen comes with all of its original boxes and papers. Gently used, it shows only minor wear. Very minor wear. Back when Levenger was contracting with major Italian pen manufacturers to make pens for their brand, Levenger got this "Levenger Tuxedo Voyager", which was really a Visconti Voyager fountain pen. We especially love the grey-pearl band around the cap. This preowned pen looks almost new and shows very little, if any, wear. Nicely sized for an easy grip while writing. You will write a very smooth, wet medium line with its two-tone 14k gold nib. It comes with a standard international converter and can use like cartridges. 14cm capped.

Parker was rather genius for resurrecting its classic Duofold design for a modern luxury pen. Our Parker Duofold Centennial in burgundy is a handsome classic. We love the way the sparkly acrylic burgundy undulates under a light as your rotate the cap or barrel. Our pre-owned luxury pen comes with its original box and papers. There's a Parker converter in it, too. You will write a nice medium line with its two-tone 18k gold nib. No monogram or significant wear. 13.5cm capped.

We've always been a sucker for blue pens...especially Pelikans. Like Mary Poppins, they are practically perfect in every way. This is the Pelikan Souveran M600. It has some light wear from use, but it was clearly well loved. We lubed up the piston for smooth filling action. It had some very determined-to-remain blue ink in it, but we think got it...or at least most of it...out. You will enjoy the smooth two-toned 14k gold medium-point nib. The 600 series typically fits medium-sized hands to larger hands that aren't likely oversized hands. Comes with its box. The logo is a frosted gold pelican and two chicks on a black background. Turn this Stipula I Castoni fountain pen under a light, and you will see not just a simple black-and-amber pattern but amber flecks that change hues as the light catches them from different angles. The color design on this preowned pen is called the Occhio di Gatto or "Cat's Eye." It might be difficult to see in the photo, but the stone on the pocket clip is very sparkly. All mysteries are revealed with a good demonstrator pen. This Sailor 1911 leaves little to the imagination. It is really fun to write with and fill. The fact that it has an M-S ("music") nib made of 14k gold could make this your very favorite preowned pen. In truth, we find this nib to be buttery smooth, but it writes more like a double broad. Its thick tipping does not give it a ton of line variation. Our luxury pen has minimal wear and there are only a couple traces of blue ink trapped in the inner cap. 13.5cm capped.
