Pre-Owned Pens

Waterman was already well on its way back as a luxury pen maker when it created the Waterman Rhapsody. This blue-marble ballpoint was part of the upper tier of pens for the company. We replaced the refill with a brand-new blue one. It writes very well, as the brass-barrel construction of the pen gives it a little extra weight, which helps it write more smoothly. Twist the tail cap to advance or retract the ballpoint. You will find some light wear on the pen but nothing egregious. 14.1cm.

The brown checker pattern on this Conklin Stylograph rollerball pen really stands out. Inspired by vintage Conklin pens, the rollerball style adds a modern twist. We installed a new rollerball refill in this pen that looks almost as good as new. The section has a little grit for a better grip as you write. A little heft in this pen helps the refill glide along more smoothly. 13.7cm capped.

Not quite ready to give up the ghost, our Sheaffer Balance II fountain pen is a great writer. Unfortunately, the celluloid barrel seems to be deteriorating. The entire back third broke off, and we glued it back together. That is why this pen set is such a bargain. Considered the "autumn" design pattern for this model, it is still attractive. You will write a super smooth fine line with its two-tone 18k gold nib. The ballpoint pen is in good working order and comes with a still-working blue ballpoint refill. Lost in the discussion of German pens is the mighty Zeppelin. Our Zeppelin is a handsome modern design whose barrel and trim are silver plated. No dents, but there are some scratches and scuffs. The steel nib is marked medium, but we found it to write a smooth fine line. Click the headline for close-ups. Also included is a standard international converter. 14.5cm capped.

Nearly identical to its brother, the Montblanc 146, the Montblanc 147 Traveler is virtually the same in design and size. However, unlike a 146, this pen is a cartridge-only filler. The 146 only fills with a piston. Our Montblanc 147 only fills with cartridges on that little converter. You can see the cartridge carriage is removed from the barrel to showcase how it works. You will write a nice medium line with its two-tone 14k gold nib! Minimal wear and it still has a sticker showcasing that the nib is a medium point. Aside from a little blue ink on the nib, we think this pen could be new old stock. Too bad we don't have the original Traveler leather case. Click the headline for close-ups. 14.5cm capped.

Blue-and-orange "Saffron" designs in the Omas Paragon never get old. We love the rich, almost granite-like quality of the celluloid's patterns. Our pre-owned luxury pen is in good working order with no cracks or deep scratches. Only a little wear from use. The piston is a little stiff but works well. You will find the 18k gold nib is marked medium and writes more of a drier fine line. We thinks it needs some breaking in from use. It sat unused for too long and needs a little TLC. A 1997 imprint is in the barrel, just behind the section. 14cm capped.

Hardcore Pelikan collectors, today's your lucky day! Here is a genuinely limited edition Pelikan that is off-catalog from the standard Pelikan fare. The Swiss watch company called Chronoswiss contracted with Pelikan to make a limited edition run of 999 company-themed pens for its very high-end clientele. Thus the Cronoswiss Styloscope pen was born. Our preowned luxury pen is new old stock and complete with all of its boxes and papers. Not only do you get a leather carrying case and mini pad of paper. You get not one but two 18k gold nibs! The nib installed in the pen is a medium point, and the spare nib is an Oblique Broad! The pen has sterling silver trim and is numbered 725 of 999. Levenger teamed up with Sheaffer to make a new series of pens for the Connaisseur line. Each color of the line was named for one of the most famous seas on the planet. This is the Sheaffer Levenger Connaisseur Mediterranean. It is a handsome sapphire blue with gold-plated trim. Our preowned pen takes modern Sheaffer cartridges and short converters. Unfortunately, we haven't any for this pen. No cracks or serious problems. Only light wear from use. You will write a very nice extra-fine line with its 14k gold nib.
