Filling Mechanism: Ballpoint
Era: 1980-present
Price: $199.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 2485: Cross: Peerless 125
You can't deny the bold, rugged handsome design of this oversized Cross Peerless 125 ballpoint pen. A textured barley pattern looks and feels great. The flagship of the Cross line is in near-mint condition, even though we don't have the original box. The working black refill extends and retracts with a twist of the tail cap. We don't know how much ink is left, but it doesn't look as if this pen has ever seen much use. There's even a jewel in the cap that we think is onyx. 14.5cm.
Pre-Owned Pens: 2480 Cross Verve
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present
Price: $125.00
Pre-Owned Pens: 2480: Cross: Verve
We always got a kick out of the advertising for Cross Verve pens. It showed a mostly naked couple wrapped around each other with the woman trying to write a letter with her Cross Verve. Of all the highly unlikely scenarios in advertising, that one seemed to be a pretty unlikely stretch. All the same, the pens are very nice writing instruments. This one sports a very smooth steel medium nib that seems to pay tribute to the old Sheaffer Triumph nib designs. The pen is very space-agey. It also is wide for an easier grip. It comes with a Cross converter, but it takes Cross cartridges, too. The blue metallic finish is in great condition with minimal wear. 14.7cm capped.

Cross Verves were bold, futuristic pens that just never caught fire with the public when they first came out. Now they are edging closer to the more collectible side of life. This is a very gently used Verve ballpoint. Its wide grip makes it easier to write all day. The slightly textured, deep-blue metal finish keeps it from being slippery. It comes with a working blue refill, but we don't know how much ink remains. 14.5cm.

Vintage pen fans who love the Parker Vacumatic Shadowwave designs, will love this very similar Cross Townsend ballpoint pen with a "Translucent Green" finish. It has green and black vertical stripes that echo the old Parker design. Chrome trim really helps accentuate the design. Near mint condition. Made in USA. The refill extends and retracts with a twist of the tail cap. The refill writes well with black ink. However, we don't know how much is left. 14.6cm.

"Meteorite Champagne" is the name of this effervescent pale pink Cross Townsend. In near-mint condition, the nice part about this ballpoint pen is that it has just a touch of texture compared to most other Townsends. The refill extends and retracts with a twist of the tail. The pen writes well, but we have no idea how much black ink remains in the refill. 14.6cm.

Quicksilver is the name of the color and finish on this Cross Townsend. It has a metallic shimmer like the paint on car. The company name is written in a cursive script on the clip. It is an older Townsend. Click the headline, and you will see the curious nib on it. It looks just like a regular gold Townsend nib, but it isn't marked 14k. It writes a nice medium line a little dryly in our hands. It fills with a Cross cartridge or converter, and comes with a converter. The pen has only light wear, which is most visible on the clip. 14.9cm capped.

Stub alert! Technically Cross marked the nib on this Titanium Townsend as broad. However, when you write with it, it has line variance from an extra fine to about 1mm wide! The finish on the titanium of this pre-owned Cross Townsend is nearly perfect. It fills with proprietary Cross cartridges or converters, and it comes with a converter. Click the headline for a much better look at that 14k gold nib! It is a real delight with which to write. The added heft of the metal helps the pen glide smoothly and confidently along. 14.9cm capped.

Quartz blue is a stunning rarer color on this Cross Townsend rollerball pen. The metallic finish is practically mint condition! It is darker and more royal blue than the photo indicates. The brass barrel and cap construction of this pen makes it much more durable than a standard Mont Blanc rollerball. Plus, it has more weight for a smoother gliding writing experience. We include a brand-new refill. 15cm capped.
