Pre-Owned Pens: 4775: Mont Blanc: 146
As we get back to work in the outside world, step up your look at the office with a Montblanc 146 to impress clients and coworkers. These pens make signing ceremonies all that much more special. Montblanc is recognized the world over as a luxury pen for business elites. Our Montblanc 146 is larger than a Classique but smaller than the 149. It has already seen a good life serving in the field of commerce. As such, a close inspection will show many small surface scratches and possibly two bite marks on the tail's blind cap. It isn't the type of damage a person sitting across the table from you will notice. The only thing they might notice are the little black flecks we can't polish out of the gold-plated tail band. No cracks. You will write a smooth, wet medium line with its 14k gold nib. We filled and flushed the pen's piston filler, and everything seems to be working well. Likely an early to mid-1990s model with a serial number but no "Pix" under the clip. 14.3cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4773 Parker Duofold
Filling Mechanism: Button Filler
Era: 1920-1929   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $199.99
Vintage Pens: 4773: Parker: Duofold
To keep up with the times, Parker embraced an art deco vibe for its streamlined Parker Duofold Senior. Keeping most of its original design language, these pens sported tapered end caps and a modified clip. This is a Canadian-made Duofold! It has been fully restored with a new ink sac and expertly polished and waxed to look like new. However, you can feel in the cap where some dimples were polished out, but it was polished so well you can't see it! In some lights, the cap might look a shade or two lighter than the barrel. The imprint is very clear but just a tad faded. Under the nib you will find an original "Christmas tree" inkfeed. You will write a extra-fine to fine line with its 14k gold nib. The tip of the nib is ever-so-slightly hooked down. As such it tends to be a little drier and scratchier to use. It needs a good breaking-in to write as well as Duofolds are famous for writing. 13.1cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4680 Sheaffer 5-30
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1920-1929   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $69.99
Vintage Pens: 4680: Sheaffer: 5-30
Sheaffer 5-30 pens were a creative bit of model naming and advertising. The 5-30 meant this was originally a $5 pen with a 30-year warranty. That was a lot of money back in the 1920s, but it was a pretty good bargain when you think about all of the times a pen might need a new ink sac or a nib could get ruined. Our pen has been fully restored with a new ink sac, but it also has plenty of cosmetic issues. It is a sound pen with no cracks, a crisp imprint and a tight clip with no brassing. Unfortunately, there are some deep scratches on the cap and a blu-ish spot to the right of the clip that won't polish out. You will love writing with its smooth, wet medium-broad nib. Click the headline for a close-up. 13.3cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 3570 Parker Duofold Esparto
Filling Mechanism: Ballpoint
Era: 1980-present
Price: $899.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 3570: Parker: Duofold Esparto
As far as we're concerned, Parker Duofold Espartos are the holy grail of modern luxury pens for Parker lovers. Only fitting that it pays tribute to Spanish papermaking, and the fiber patterns therein, our Parker Duofold Esparto ballpoint pen is made from solid sterling silver. Parker didn't scrimp on the silver, either. Ours is new in the box. It does not appear to have done any writing. Click the headline for close-ups. Its lacquered wooden presentation box looks grey in some lights, and green in others. There is an outer cardboard box for the wooden box. You will see the pen has a working blue Parker refill inside it. Under the pad is the paperwork and another refill.
Vintage Pens: 4683 Sheaffer Lifetime Balance 1000
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $75.00
Vintage Pens: 4683: Sheaffer: Lifetime Balance 1000
Popping off the cap and barrel of this Sheaffer Lifetime Balance 1000 is a radiant green straited design. It is a feast for the pen-lover's soul, with only a touch of brassing on the gold-plated trim. We restored this sexy beast with a new ink sac, and you will write a smooth, wet broad line without feedback but maybe a slight sensation of drag. Click the headline for a close-up of its two-tone 14k gold nib. You'll also notice a slight wave in the barrel of the pen on either side of the lever filler. The deep amber of the inkview window is also hard to miss. Nevertheless, there are no cracks and there isn't much wear and tear on the cap and barrel. A great daily writer! 14cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4684 Sheaffer 5-30 Balance
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $69.99
Vintage Pens: 4684: Sheaffer: 5-30 Balance
Oh, Canada, thank you for making this wonderful golden brown Sheaffer 5-30 Balance. You will love its 14k gold two-tone nib that writes a super smooth, wet medium-broad line! An absolute writing joy! We restored the pen with a fresh, new ink sac. Yet, the catch is that it has a lot of wear. From tiny teeth marks around the tail to little scratches all over the cap and barrel, a close-up view reveals a lot. Luckily, its lustrous celluloid and design hides most of the damage from view at arm's length. Nevertheless, there is substantial brassing on the cap band, and the pocket clip is a bit loose. It needs a loving home where it will remain a loyal daily writer that delivers joy with each stroke. 14cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4685 Sheaffer Balance 500
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $59.99
Vintage Pens: 4685: Sheaffer: Balance 500
Sheaffer Balance pens still look sharp after all these years. We restored this grey straited 500 model with a new ink sac. It writes beautifully with a smooth, firm fine line from its two-tone Feather Touch 14k gold nib. Its ink-viewing window is still remarkably yellow-green without much ambering. Click the headline, and you will see why it is bargain priced. It has some moderate wear AND the lip of the cap seems a little...we don't know, maybe...melted in. It fits on the pen's barrel just fine. No cracks anywhere. Also a little wonky is the streamlined flat clip. Its in tightly but it is a little dented and scratched. You will love it as a daily writer that is ready to work hard for you, but it won't ever make it as a museum piece. 14cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4762 Mont Blanc Hitchcock
Filling Mechanism: Rollerball
Era: 1980-present
Price: $2,250.00
Pre-Owned Pens: 4762: Mont Blanc: Hitchcock
Good eeeve-ning. Try not to go psycho over our limited edition Montblanc Alfred Hitchcock rollerball pen! This Montblanc Great Characters pen is definitely not for the birds. Paying tribute to the master of modern horror films, you will find flourishes inspired by the director's greatest works, such as the "Vertigo" themed chasing around the barrel and cap or the butcher knife pocket clip. No doubt it is a pen Mother Bates would approve of for little Norman. Barely used, there are only a few light marks in the sterling silver trim and a subtle scratch on the barrel that we would never have seen if we didn't catch it in the light just right. It comes with a working blue refill and all of its original boxes and papers. There's even a small film canister with a booklet inside full of Hitchcock's quotes about filmmaking. Numbered 1469 of 3000.
