Pre-Owned Pens: 5141 Pelikan Niagara Falls M640
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: Stub
Price: $499.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 5141: Pelikan: Niagara Falls M640
Special editions are always fun at Pelikan. Take this Pelikan Niagara Falls M640 for example. Silvery streaks cascade down a medium blue barrel that is actually thicker than an 800 Souverän model Pelikan. Its piston filler works smoothly for what feels like a shorter length than standard Souveräns. There is barely any trace of wear or use on the pen. You will write a nice line variation with its stub 18k gold nib that was likely custom ground by Richard Binder. (We acquired this pen from a collection with a lot of nib work by Mr. Binder.) 13.5cm capped.
Pencil: 5164 Sheaffer GU
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $99.99
Pencil: 5164: Sheaffer: GU
Green gold in mint condition makes for a stunning Sheaffer GU pencil that is new old stock! Twist the top of the pencil to advance and retract the 1.1mm lead. No dents or scratches. This vintage pencil is still stickered! Pull of the pencil's topper to reveal the original hardened eraser and spare leads underneath it. No engraving in the name plate window. The decorative pattern etched into the barrel is of little wavy lines. 12.9cm.
Vintage Pens: 5163 Sheaffer Autograph
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1940-1949   Fountain Pen Nib Size: B
Price: $299.99
Vintage Pens: 5163: Sheaffer: Autograph
If you wanted to show you were a big deal in the 1940s office environment, you'd own a Sheaffer Autograph. More than a standard high-end Triumph fountain pen, this pen came with a solid 14k gold band that was extra wide. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac. It was engraved with the initials B.R. A great signature pen, you will find this pen comes with a juicy, smooth broad nib made of 14k gold. No dents, cracks nor deep scratches! Just light surface wear, except for one very little circular mark just below the lip of the cap on the barrel of the pen. Click the headline for a close-up of the pen and nib. 13.5cm capped.
Pencil: 5160 Conklin Nozac
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1930-1939
Price: $19.99
Pencil: 5160: Conklin: Nozac
Vintage writing can be fun with a vintage pencil such as the Conklin Nozac. Ten-sided for an easy grip, this pencil has seen some use and wear over the years, but it is still in great working order. Twist the tail cap to advance and retract a 1.1mm lead. Pull of the tail cap to reveal a used up eraser and spare lead under it. In addition to some scratches and wear marks, there's a little brassing on the pocket clip. A great daily user for someone looking for a pencil that still stands out from the crowd. 13.8cm.
Vintage Pens: 5159 Parker Lucky Curve
Filling Mechanism: Button Filler
Era: 1910-1919   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $199.99
Vintage Pens: 5159: Parker: Lucky Curve
Parker advanced the efficiency and ease of using fountain pens when it created the Lucky Curve inkfeed. This is an early Parker Lucky Curve button filler from the very early 20th century. Click the headline for close-ups of the pen and nib. Notice the pen still has a slip cap and significant chocolate hazing of the black hard rubber (ebonite). We have not attempted to restore this pen. Notice how the threads of the blind cap by the button are missing. We feel that this rare older pen is likely too fragile to properly disassemble and put back together. Its 14k gold nib is a beautiful number 2 size that writes a very smooth medium line with a little flex. It also appears to have an early inkfeed. The pocket clip is an aftermarket clip made by the Rexall pharmacies. Slender and 14.1cm capped.
Pencil: 5158 Autopoint Autopoint
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $19.99
Pencil: 5158: Autopoint: Autopoint
Autopoint seems to have been born, nearly died and reborn again all within the span of a few years in the early 20th century. This pencil shows some wear from use and age, and unfortunately, the mechanism is seized up. Yet, it remains an early example of this classic brand. If it looks just like a Realite a little lower on the page, that is because the two companies had a very close relationship. 14.3cm.
Vintage Pens: 5157 Sheaffer Combo
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1930-1939   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $69.99
Vintage Pens: 5157: Sheaffer: Combo
One of the more clever writing instruments of the 1930s and '40s was the pen-pencil combo. This Sheaffer Combo is a little on the uncommon side. We've seen far more 2nd and 3rd tier brands with combos than Sheaffer. Regardless, we have fully restored this vintage pen and pencil. There is a new ink sac, and the pencil is in good working order. There is ample wear and brassing from use, but there are no cracks. You will write a fine, wet line with its 14k gold nib. Click the headline for a close-up. The nib has much less scratch to it than it looks. The pencil uses 1.1mm leads, and it has a hardened eraser in the tail. 15.5cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 5138 Parker Duofold Centennial
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $399.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 5138: Parker: Duofold Centennial
Parker seemed to be one of the first if not the first pen company to recognize that there was still demand for fountain pens and the pens of its own past. When it released a new version of its famed Parker Duofold in the 1980s, it was a huge hit. They are still popular enough today to continue being made. This is one of the earlier Parker Duofold Centennial fountain pens and ballpoint sets in a beautiful blue marbled design. Both of these pens show some wear from use but neither has any significant cosmetic flaws. The ballpoint comes with a working blue Parker refill. The fountain pen has an ink-stained but working converter. You will write a nice fine line with its 18k gold nib, which has some light feedback. It comes with its original boxes, though the interior of the box is a yellowed some with age. Click the headline for a close-up.
