Pre-Owned Pens: 4628: Sheaffer: Balance II
Sheaffer made a brilliant move when it rekindled its old line of Balance pens for the modern Balance II. Capitalizing on the nostalgia factor, they made a great luxury fountain pen with a vintage look. Our favorite touch is the rekindled two-tone 18k gold "Feather Touch" nib! This pen writes more of a fine line with a little feed back. You fill it with the included Sheaffer converter or Sheaffer cartridges. This pen has an almost WWII tank parking lot tent camouflage pattern. The cap and barrel are free of brassing and cracks. The only glaring problem is what looks like old, dried super glue in an inch-long leak down the right side edge of the clip. Click the headline for a close up. You will also find some corrosion on the ring of the section. 14.7cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4625 Parker Duofold
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $149.99
Vintage Pens: 4625: Parker: Duofold
Streamlined Parker Duofolds are a hard-to-find treasure. This pencil is a great find. It is nearly 100 years old, and it shows only a little wear, but not much for its age. There's a little brassing on the ball of the clip. It works well, advancing and retracting its 1.1mm lead with a twist of the orange permanite tail cap. Under the cap is the hardened old eraser. Under that are a few spare leads. A couple wear spots keep its imprint from being perfect, but it is legible. Not an oversized pencil, it looks average sized. 12cm capped.

Pre-Owned Pens: 4627: Sheaffer: Balance II
Do you want a great, smooth medium nib for less than $50?! You can't go wrong with this Sheaffer Balance II. It was heavily used and well loved. There is brassing on the steel cap band that was plated in gold. You'll also find a crack to the top left of the clip on the cap. It is nearly an inch long, but the clip still feels secure. There are some scuffs and scratches on the dark-green pen. It comes with its working, original Sheaffer converter. You can also use Sheaffer cartridges with this pen. Click the headline for close-ups. 14.5cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 4626 Parker 75ish
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1960-1979   Fountain Pen Nib Size: SF
Price: $75.00
Vintage Pens: 4626: Parker: 75ish
On the surface, this looks like the classic Parker 75 in sterling silver with the "cisele" design. Made in France and completely dent-free, you'll find a little wear on the "cap band" and top tassie. There are monotone golden dinner plate ends on the pen. Yet, once you pull off the cap, you'll see what looks to us like a Premier-model section and 14k gold nib. The Premier kept a similar nib to the 75, but the section—grip—is more rounded than the triangular 75 sections. With a light touch, the nib writes a very dry, extra-fine line. HOWEVER, it has a springy nib that when used slowly and gently has some nice flex. There's a little feedback, but it is worth the semi-flex ability. It fills with modern Parker converters and cartridges, but it comes with neither. Click the headline for close-ups. 12.9cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4596 Visconti Ragtime
Filling Mechanism: Ballpoint
Era: 1980-present
Price: $99.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 4596: Visconti: Ragtime
Back in the very beginning of Visconti was the Ragtime. Visconti Ragtimes were among the first...if not the first...models the company made. This ballpoint pen comes in a spectacular tiger-eye acrylic. Twist the tail cap to advance or retract the working black, Parker-style refill. Minimal wear. It looks great. 13.8cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 4624: Parker: Lady Duofold
Got it made in the jade. Keep rockin' the summer with this Parker Lady Duofold. We restored it with a new ink sac. You'll see the barrel is more discolored than the cap, but the wide cap band is an especially nice treat. The cap and barrel have some light wear from use, but they look pretty good. Its barrel imprint is still crisp and legible. You can read it in the photo, if you click they headline for the close-up. The 14k gold nib writes and extra-fine line with a bit of feedback and a little flex. We believe it is barely a semi-flex nib, but if you are careful and patient, you can get it to go from XF to medium. 11.8cm capped.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4595 Danitrio L.E. Brillante
Filling Mechanism: Ballpoint
Era: 1980-present
Price: $125.00
Pre-Owned Pens: 4595: Danitrio: L.E. Brillante
Numbered 164 of only 300, the Danitrio Brillante is a very handsome limited edition ballpoint pen. Its ivory-colored ends and mother-of-pearl barrel really stand out. Golden Greek key accents make for the perfect trim. The pen is in mint condition and barely--if ever--used. Twist the tail cap to advance and retract a working blue Parker-style refill. 12.6cm.
Vintage Pens: 4623 Sheaffer Saratoga
Filling Mechanism: Snorkel
Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: M
Price: $79.99
Vintage Pens: 4623: Sheaffer: Saratoga
Dip into the joy of mess-free fountain pen filling with the revolutionary snorkel-filling Sheaffer Saratoga! We love the overcomplicated Rube Goldberg filling system of the Sheaffer Snorkel. They are just such fun pens. We restored this one with a working ink sac and new O-ring and point seal. True, it is fairly worn, scuffed and scratched. BUT, it writes magnificently with its two-toned 14k gold nib. You will enjoy its extremely smooth medium line. And idea daily driver for anyone just getting into Snorkels. 14.1cm capped.
