Pre-Owned Pens: 5106: Montegrappa: Extra Stylographe
The artistry of Italian craftsmen at Montegrappa never ceases to impress. This special Montegrappa Extra Stylographe fountain pen seems to harness the warmth and happiness of the sun on even the coldest nights. Orange flames of celluloid shoot up and down the cap and barrel of this preowned luxury pen, tempered by sterling silver accents. We aren't sure if this pen has ever been used. It looks as if it is new old stock. The only possible clue it was used is the bottle of blue ink that comes with it looks as if it might be drawn down by one or two refills. We filled the pen with water, and the water came out clear. The piston filler works well. However, it has a unique ticking and vibration, as if it is geared like a clock. We didn't write with it, but it has an 18k gold nib that writes a medium line. Complete with original boxes and papers.

Pre-Owned Pens: 5105: Montegrappa: Extra 1930
Italian artisans brilliantly recapture the decadence and beauty of the 1930s with this Montegrappa Extra 1930 rollerball pen. Our preowned luxury pen looks pretty close to perfect with its dazzling sterling silver trim and "bamboo" green celluloid. Sheaffer had a similarly colored celluloid in the 1930s called "marine green." You can really lose yourself in the green flames as you rotate this pen under a light. This handsome pen comes with a working blue rollerball refill and all of its boxes and papers. There is a luxuriousness to its heft and girth, too. 13.6cm capped.
Vintage Pens: 5151 Conklin 40P

Era: 1920-1929   Fountain Pen Nib Size: SF
Price: $199.99
Vintage Pens: 5151: Conklin: 40P
Didn't Shel Silverstein have a poem called, "Almost Perfect, but Not Quite"? That sums up our Conklin 40P. Nice, shiny black hard rubber. Deep, crisp chasing. Clear but a little uneven factory imprint. Fully restored with a new ink sac. You will even find that this vintage pen has a semi-flex nib that writes an extra-fine to 1mm line. Yet, if you look closely at the gold-plated crown on the cap, to the right of center is a big ol' dent where someone once dropped this magnificent old fountain pen. No cracks or other problems. 11.4cm capped.

Price: $699.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 5102: Mont Blanc: Heritage 1912
We love how Montblanc draws from its early days of pen-making to create this retro capless rollerball pen as part of the Montblanc Heritage Collection 1912. Our pen is guaranteed authentic, coming complete with its original boxes and papers. Its brush metal design is very Bau Haus inspired. The only significant flaw can be seen just above the clip and 3/4s of the way to end of the cap. It is a wear spot from use. The rest of the pen looks great. Comes with a working blue refill.

Vintage Pens: 5132 Parker 51
Filling Mechanism: Vacuum Filler
Era: 1940-1949   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $125.00
Vintage Pens: 5132: Parker: 51
In the first quarter of 1946, when this Parker 51 was made, it was a time of boundless optimism. The war was over, the baby boom was just starting, business was thriving and anything seemed possible. Who knows what this vintage pen might have helped record? We do know it has been fully restored with a new diaphragm and that it still looks pretty sharp. Only a few very small marks can be found on the gold-filled cap. Its original blue enamel is missing just a touch in the center of the diamond. The hood and barrel show a little more wear from use, but it isn't bad at all considering it is 76 years old. You will write an extra-fine line with its 14k gold nib. Unlike so many vintage American nibs, this really is more like an accountant's nib or Japanese extra-fine nib. You'll feel the paper beneath you as your write, but it isn't scratchy. Genuine feedback and smooth. 13.6cm capped.
