Completing our burst of Parker 51s is this 1951 model in "Midnight Blue." Didn't they write a song about this pen? LOL. It is a fine pen with no dents, cracks or deep scratches. It does have a little wear from use. It works great with its original pli-glass ink sac. The only thing missing is the little black jewel on top of the inner metal sac tube or casing. This one is date coded with a faint imprint. You will write a smooth fine line with its 14k gold nib! 13.7cm capped.

Grey always made for a nice color in e Parker 51 line, especially with a lustraloy cap. This is a 1950s Parker 51 with a still-good pli-glass ink sac. This vintage pen works great. You will only find some light wear from use, and some little spots on the barrel around where the cap snugs when closed. Its 14k gold nib writes a smooth fine-medium line. No dents, cracks or deep scratches. A little stubborn schmutz around the clip band. 13.6cm capped.

Vintage Pens: 4800: Parker: 51
Perhaps the most famous fountain pen of all time, the Parker 51 was a marvel of inky innovations. The original 51s were the first, virtually leak-proof pens with their hooded nibs, ink collector and feed. In 1948, more innovations came with the aerometric filling system...a squeeze bar and pli-glass sac filler. The pli-glass (silicone) ink sacs were thought to last 30 years. Our pen was made in 1949, and its pli-glass sac still looks and works like new! The pen and cap have light to moderate wear but no dents, cracks or deep scratches. Its only glaring cosmetic flaws are the chrome flakes coming off the metal cage protecting the ink sac. Its 14k gold nib writes an extra-fine line that would do the Japanese nibsmiths proud. To those unfamiliar with extra-fine nibs, it might seem to have a little feedback. To extra-fine aficionados it is a pretty smooth nib. 13.6cm capped.

Are you vintage-pen curious but don't want to spend a fortune just to experiment? You are in luck with this Parker 21! Modeled after the famed Parker 51, Parker 21s are nearly identical, except for a few design nuances and a steel nib. Ours comes with its original "pli-glass" ink sac that works great. Its steel nib is firm and writes a nice fine line with a hint of feedback. Look closely, and you'll see its burgundy barrel and hood have seen some action over the years. The clip band on the cap is a little worse for wear, too. BUT, this pen remains a great work horse, and it is ready to be your dedicated vintage daily driver. 13.4cm capped.

Pencil: 4786: Mont Blanc: Mozart
Rock me, Amadeus! Here's a great little pencil for every occasion. It is the petite Montblanc Mozart. Gently used, it has a little wear and comes with what we think are its original boxes. We think it is an early version of the Mozart with a slender black box and not the larger box that includes the CD. This pencil has its proper nomenclature including serial number IF1390817 to the right of the clip band as you face it clip up; "Germany" to the left of the clip band and "Pix" under the clip. It takes .7mm leads and comes with a few spares under the cap with a partially used-but-fresh eraser. Pencil measures 11cm.
Vintage Pens: 4798 Parker 61
Filling Mechanism: Capillary
Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $249.99
Vintage Pens: 4798: Parker: 61
In the battle for fountain pen supremacy, Parker had the last great filling system innovation that allowed for a mess-free filling experience. Sheaffer Snorkels were the most overengineered pens in history to become completely mess-free fillers. Parker 61 fountain pens were the most simple mess-free fillers. The Teflon-coated capillary filler only required a simple dip. This vintage pen is a beautiful first-edition Parker 61 with a rare and beautiful gold-and-silver-colored "Rainbow" cap! It even has a torn original price sticker. You will write a smooth Japanese extra-fine line with its 14k gold nib. The barrel looks great. Click the headline to see the one glaring problem. There is a bump and crack in the section. If you look closely, the crack appears to be filled in with either clear nail polish or epoxy. As always, nobody's perfect. 14cm capped.

How about a triple shot of Montblanc awesomeness? Here's a highly sought Montblanc 147...with the platinum-plated trim...with its original carrying case! These pens were only made for a short while, and they offer the size and prestige of a 146, BUT they only fill with cartridges. Ideal for the people who hate filling 146 fountain pens from a bottle. Our pre-owned luxury pen comes complete with its original boxes and papers, though they aren't featured in the photo. It also comes with its custom-made leather pouch that features a slot for the pen and spare ink cartridges. The fountain pen is in nearly perfect condition with barely a trace of wear. The leather case did its job protecting the pen, as the leather does have some scuffs and wear. The 2-tone 14k gold nib writes a smooth, wet medium line. 14.7cm capped.
