Pre-Owned Pens: 5207 Omas Bologna
Filling Mechanism: Piston Filler
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: SF
Price: $649.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 5207: Omas: Bologna
Dark golden veins shoot like lightning through the sleek black celluloid of this stunning Omas Bologna fountain pen. In addition to its handsome design by Italy's master craftsmen, the writing experience is divine. Its 14k gold nib writes a buttery smooth medium line, and with just a touch of gentle pressure, it will expand to write a wider line by more than 1mm! Its piston works smoothly. You get the complete box and papers. Now here's the quirks. For some reason the designers added a rose gold pocket clip and possibly a rose gold nib with the rest of the trim looking like regular yellow gold. The only flaws on the pen are 3 discolored pits on the left edge of the pocket clip. Click the headline for close-ups. The cream-colored interior of the presentation box is starting to disintegrate with age, sticking to the blue-leather pen sleeve, which also shows a little wear. If given the choice between this preowned pen and a Montblanc, we'd take this Omas every time. 14.4cm capped.

Styled after the surface of the sun? Sure looks like it, in all of its radiant orange and yellow glory. We say it time and again, but the Italians know what they are doing when it comes to designing and crafting beautiful pen. Our Delta Dolce Vita is the mid-sized version of the pen. It is a rare capped ballpoint that comes with a working Parker-style black refill. If you prefer a rollerball feel, you can always use the Parker Gel refills. The gold-plated trim has a little wear but the rest of the pen looks almost new. 13.1cm capped.

Here's a fairly uncommon nib for Esterbrook collectors. Our Esterbrook SJ has a steel 2314-B Relief nib. Click the headline for a close-up. You will write a very nice, smooth line with some nice variation. This oblique nib is likely more for right-handed people, but I'm sure there are some lefties who can find a way to make it work for them, if they are determined. We restored this pen with a new ink sac. No cracks to be found, but it has some light wear from past use. Tight clip, deep imprint. Great pen. 12cm capped.

Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $149.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 4985: Aurora: Ipsilon
Matte orange is both attractive and rare in the Aurora Ipsilon line. Plus, there's the tactile bonus of a lightly textured finish. This set includes both the fountain pen and ballpoint. The fountain pen comes with an Aurora/Parker-style converter. You can also feed it both companies' ink cartridges. There's light wear and a light mark where the cap posts. You can see its steel nib is marked F for fine, but we find it writes closer to extra-fine with a little feedback. Writing is a simple click away with the ballpoint. You'll get it with a super smooth blue gel refill made by Parker.
Vintage Pens: 5213 Esterbrook J-2556
Filling Mechanism: Lever Filler
Era: 1950-1959   Fountain Pen Nib Size: XF
Price: $49.99
Vintage Pens: 5213: Esterbrook: J-2556
A glossy, rich coppery finish on this Esterbrook J-model pen really stands out. There are no cracks. Its biggest flaw is 1/2-inch scratch down to the right of the clip as you look at it in the photo. Click the headline for a close-up. It is easy to see when looking for it, but it is easy to miss when you aren't looking for it. Otherwise, there's only light wear on the pen. We restored this vintage pen with a new ink sac, and it is ready for plenty more writing. You will write a firm, extra-fine to fine line with its steel 2556 nib. It is an upgrade nib, but it still has a little feedback. 12.5cm capped.
Pencil: 5214 Wahl-Eversharp No. 14
Filling Mechanism: Pencil
Era: 1920-1929
Price: $99.99
Pencil: 5214: Wahl-Eversharp: No. 14
The last of our new old stock pencils, this Wahl-Eversharp No. 14 remains a 1920s' stunner. No dents or dings, it still has its original price tag. A Greek-key design is etched on its gold-filled barrel. Twist the tail knob to advance the 1.1mm lead. Pull back the knob and unscrew it to reveal spare leads waiting nearly 100 years to see the light! Fully functional historical artifacts don't get much better than this. 13.3cm.
Pre-Owned Pens: 4986 Aurora Ipsilon
Filling Mechanism: Cartridge/Converter
Era: 1980-present   Fountain Pen Nib Size: F
Price: $99.99
Pre-Owned Pens: 4986: Aurora: Ipsilon
Aurora Ipsilon pens turn to classic vintage pen design for a look that is very appealing. It would be difficult to say this modern pre-owned pen wasn't a little inspired by the mandarin yellow of vintage Parker Duofolds. Nevertheless, this fountain pen looks stunning with very little, if any, wear. You fill the pen with an included Parker-style converter or Aurora or Parker ink cartridges. Its matching ballpoint pen is a click-cap style using Parker ballpoint refills. It currently has a working blue refill. The click the headline to see the golden nib of the fountain pen. You will write more of an extra-fine line than the fine marked on the nib. If you have written with a lot of pens you might understand what we mean when we say this nib is neither scratchy nor smooth. It rests somewhere between the two on the smoother side.
